In Cuba every child gets to eat garbage and live in poverty .Cuba is not a good example . Cuba is socialism explained . You can all suffer the same while Castro gets the cream of the crop.
You are a poster boy for the UN document and plan for existence called Agenda 21 . You will love it because population reduction is included in it .
How old are you ? You sound like an unhappy adolesent who see's no future . If you don't want children don't have any . If you love socialism /communism move to Cuba , try it ! Socialism is the first step to Communism . You might want to check with the Russian people . I don't think they like it .

My theory......

Human survival is based on our right to reproduce....

I wouldn't want someone denying me the chance to reproduce, and never getting a chance to be a parent based on some criteria......alot of people are irresponsable thats a fact.....but no one should be the judge of your reproductive future...life is about reproduction....

What a bleak exsistance knowing you can have children, but you're told your genes end here for reasons beyond your control.

Seppuku is an honorable death (to those who truly believe.) Wouldn't you be worried that the disgrace and dishonor you've brought upon your family will hurt them more than your death?

Because it is our basic function as a living being, consume and procreate

Because Darwin says if I can attract the woman and fight off the other males, I get the prize and my DNA gets to outlive me.

Let some stupid politician try to tell me different? I'll knock up HIS wife.

Then others have no choice but to accept your adulterating DNA......thanks, the human race devolves

That wouldn't really make sense.Women already on welfare assistance do NOT receive additional funds for subsequent births, so it's not as if it's some sort of financial incentive to continue to have children.. I understand that it bothers people to see others on welfare while they foot the bill, but the welfare system of today is MUCH stricter than the one prevelant in the 1980's.

You are overly and very sadly materialistic if you believe that money would be the final factor in having a child or in experiencing the best that the world has to offer.

Yes, blame the parents, not money. Unfortunately, paying for children isn't just down to the parents is it? It is an obligation to all and this fact is used to it's fullest in many cases regardless of whose children they are.

And that will be why we will fester on this ball of dirt until it is nothing more than....a ball of dirt.

well this ball of dirt has been sustaining us and other forms of life for millions of years. What do you suggest? only letting certain people live? for a better future for some?

This idea has merit because if was years earlier, even for a short while, you might not have been born and we wouldn't have had this ridiculous post.

Utter tripe!

Some of the most loving parents can be extremely poor, some of the cruelest parents can be wealthy. I would rather live in a world where children were raised in the western version of poverty, with parents that cared and taught them to care about other people, than live in a world where the children are raised in wealth but taught to be materialistic and selfish.

Who wants to be born middle class? As you said the world needs slaves (though you claim to be a socialist so what you're saying is not making much sense..) The upper class can afford the better things for their children, but that doesn't mean those things would be put to good use. I've known plenty of upper class citizens who were idiots and got by on doing the absolute minimum because they have their lives all worked out anyway; they are going to live off of their trust funds and dividends and work for daddies/grandpa's company in some cushy job for the rest of their lives. The only thing most of them care about are alliances with the right people, currying favor, maybe having to perform a few favors themselves, and exclusivity. To go to the most exclusive schools and vacation in the most exclusive areas. Greed and disgust and absolute indifference are their only emotions. I'm not advocating a world of poor thugs but at least they are more interesting and more respectable in the sense that they have a spine or backbone of some kind .

A single bacteria strain can take out most of the population of the earth within a year, same with a virus. We are causing the evolution of the germs to be faster than we can adapt. Only a few people will survive this event and chances are that their genetics will cause them to either have no kids or screwed up kids. The genetic line has to have diversification in it for humans to survive. Hitler was wrong in thinking the Arian race could live alone.

Millions of years? A drop in the ocean perhaps, but it is humans who take more than we need from this ball of dirt isn't it?

People so often talk of evolution, but procreating isn't evolution is it unless it comes with a new generation of life that has something new to offer to improve humanity? Most of what we see is just a perpetuation of the same selfish want to satisfy personal insecurities.

Dear GaiusMarius,

You ask the wrong question because you start from the wrong place. Why should anyone have the right to tell anyone else what to do, with their life, with their body, with their mind? A very simple question and the answer in many ways will depend on whether or not you believe in God or merely power.

Exactly how is my DNA adulterated vs any others?

Natural selection works because the strongest DNA is passed along while weaker strains are excluded from the pool. This has been true since the dawn of humanity and will continue to be the preferred method of procreation. Hating the player, as it were, is misplaced in light of the game.

My current dog is the runt, and she is the best dog I've ever owned... Part of the family till she dies.

Second, while I can see his point, I think it is a self regulating problem in the sense that no intelligent person is going to choose a significantly less intelligent person to bare a child... I do not think we have that many dumb people, I think we have an unfortunate circumstance where too many people do not have the enviorement conducive to success and parenting which causes their children's minds to dip relative to those tht do.... Our society breeds useful idiots, that is by design, and will take a different kind of upper class to change it ( don't hold your breath ).

Okay so only Paris Hilton and the Kardashians and their ilk should reproduce. Yikes.

We do not have a rigid caste sytem in which a person is stuck for life in the socioeconomic status into which he or she is born. In a capitalistic society a smart enterprising poor person can hope to become wealthy. And a rich kid can squander it all and end up poor. So I don't get why you think we should let socioeconomic status be such a strong determining factor in deciding who gets to reproduce. If we were to start regulating reproduction, it seems to me it would make more sense to implement a licensing system that tests for more meaningful parenting traits like intelligence, common sense, and compassion. Let's weed out the willfully stupid abusive parents who really wreck their kids and by extension, society.

But I am not in favor of the government dictating reproductive decisions in that way. Even though I'm a Christian who is pro life for myself, I don't seek to overturn abortion rights. I don't want to live with the government taking on the role of my parent, making my most basic decisions for me. I simply do not trust the greedy sociopaths in charge enough. Why should the Cheneys and Chertoffs of the world decide my rights like that? I'm an adult and can make my own choices over my own reproductive system. So my statements above are not what I am truly wishing on my country.
