No kidding bigger than the world COMBINED!!!

www.huffingtonpost.com...

Sheesh even if the Navy was cut in half we would have more ships than the top 3 countries!

OOooooo and this does not account for the Pentagon's Black Budget which was $56 Billion

Given the failings of this President to protect Americans overseas and his downsizing of our military, coupled with his obvious Muslim ties, will he respond to attacks on America? I can see many scenarios where hesitation could be catastrophic to America. He has cut our Navy in half. What safeguards are in place to protect America in her vulnerable time between election day and Inauguration day?

There are so many things wrong with the above statements. It's one thing to have opinions, but they really should be based on fact. You seem to have so little understanding of how the US government works in general, so I have to ask, are you a little kid, or are you foreign? Either is fine, and either would explain why your level of comprehension concerning the president, the election, and the time between the election and inauguration is so incredibly low.

The US military at this point in history is more dominate than at any other time in history. The Navy has not been cut in half, as a matter of fact it is bigger than it was under Bush Jr. Its almost like the OP has no idea what he/she is talking about. And maybe you missed Obama's actions in office but, he has been just as quick to act against Muslims as any other President. I am not sure how you can be so completely wrong about everything unless of course you just mocking the nutters who say such things.

We have 11 aircraft carriers, we’re making one inactive in December to bring us to 10.
A number of what we call “amphibious assault” ships are actually small aircraft carriers but can not be counted as aircraft carriers which they are being counted as such. We have 200 fewer ships in our fleet. The Navy is definitely downsizing. However the technology they have today makes them much more powerful. Fewer and more powerful is good and bad. They can accomplish more but can also be spread too thin in a SHTF scenario.
We are downsizing for sure. It remains to be seen if that is good or bad.

The Ford will be the Enterprises replacement and the Kennedy will replace the Nimitz to be followed by all the rest. The plan is to stay at 11 carriers as of now. We are and have been getting rid of all the old frigates and eliminating that entire class replacing their role with destroyers and Littoral Combat Ships. That is a great example of replacing lots of small single role ships with fewer larger ships capable of muliple roles.

We will continue to be targeted by and be vulnerable to terrorists as long as we're overseas creating them. Whether it's "liberating and spreading democracy," "targeted drone strikes," or supporting current rebels that will be a future problem like has happened time and time again, we continue to meddle, destroy and by the actions of collateral causalities pull those on the sidelines to seek revenge.

Bring our troops home and defend our own soil. Enough with the selective world policing for corporate interests.
