I have become accustomed to burning incense over the last year or so. Not only does it fill the room with a pleasant aroma, I find it also makes me feel calm and relaxed. There is something magical about the atmosphere it creates; there is a peaceful, harmonious quality to the air when one burns a scented incense or candle. It's a cheap and simple way to brighten up your mood when you are feeling stressed and agitated.

My favourites are as follows:

1. Bamboo & White Tea
2. Vanilla
3. Lavender
4. Sandalwood
5. Rose

What are you favourite scents?

Edit: Changed "flavour" to "scent".

I call them scented candles not flavoured (and I would call them flavored you dirty Brit).

I like the 'clean linen' scent. There was another one but I can't remember it.

I don't care if it's unmanly, I like to burn a candle. It really is relaxing, makes the place smell great and can brighten the mood. Every few days I light a couple. I'm about to now. It's only 2 AM and I have some more beer.

I'll try your flavours OP.

Candle flavours? That doesn't sound healthy.

To burn, not to eat

Flavours that greet your nose, not your mouth.

That would be a scent. I think coffee is the best, makes your house smell so nice (if you like coffee).

You are correct, I changed the title

I love the smell of coffee, even though I don't drink it.

Patchouli, burnt from a real stick. It's wonderful and lingering smell. Mmm. Reminds me I must get some more very soon.
There are so many to choose from, not real keen on candles. Insense sticks are the way to go

Eta: oh yes coffee, it's a draw for my favorite

I don't burn incense anymore, but love scented candles like mandarin orange, rose, apple cinnamon, pine, lavendar etc. I also have those wax melt things that I use in an electric dragon burner thingy.

Our ability to sense tastes is almost entirely in the nose, beyond sweet and sour our mouths are pretty useless...so you are correct...plus candles now come in edible varieties, they have a lower melting temperature making them ideal for pouring upon the object of your affections if you so desire...or so I have been told...

I burn both insense and candles daily. Vanilla for candles and ylang ylang or sandlewood for insense are my preference.

What a lovely thread!! My personal favorite incense scents are:
1. Nag Champa
2. Opium
3. Patchouli

Candles:
1. Yankee Candle's "Home for the Holidays"
2. Cinnamon
3. Smoky Maple
4. Pumpkin Spice

I once found a candle scented with Lemongrass and Chamomile. It was awesome! Unfortunately, I've never found another...

Church incense.. makes me feel naughty.
Plus it scents the fabrics in the house. WHen I burn it even a few days later I can flop down on the bed or couch and a subtle whiff.. it always makes me feel happy
I happen to be a scent junkie though.

Frankincense, sandalwood and amber, on a stick.

Weird but I can't stand scented candles. I feel they smell like plastic burning. Must be my nose...

I cant stand a lot of them, Its the synthetic ingredients to make the scent.. or close to the scent. Main reason I like Modern Alchemy.. its true to scent.

Last time I was in Greece (Crete) I broke a giant lump of Mastic off of one of the trees there and I've been burning that on charcoal ever since for incense. Smells fantastic

If you don't know what mastic is it's the resin from a giant shrub that weeps out of the branches Linky

I've still got a load left even after turning some of it into varnish for my girlfriends painting.
