Uh oh, another Christian who thinks that ancient spiritual beliefs are automatically rendered evil just because they predate Christianity. Sorry to burst your bubble OP, but there were plenty of beliefs around before Christianity existed. Labeling them as 'evil' doesn't make your beliefs any more valid.

Who's the bad guy again, I always forget when it comes to these works of fiction.

Nice example from a site name YourGoingToHell.Com lol.... But your somewhat right, people who say its no big deal are the kids who grew up with no knowledge in these in these subjects n just passed it off as a day to dress up n get candy... But noooo.....

Um, the reason they "dress up" was originally to keep the "Evil Spirits" from recognizing you on the day that they can return to earth to haunt the living, or to scare them off. Same goes for Jack o' lanterns.

You think you would support Halloween because it is a way for you to "scare" off evil and the "devil"

Who is "they" you are referring to..? Pagans..? N dont refer to some youtube video on history on Halloween its a bunch of bs.. Not tryin to debate, just wondering who your referring to

The people who dress up.

The language I used obviously inferred that the statement applied to all who dress up on Halloween. Why would you assume I was referring to Pagans? Ignorance, or arrogance? Or where you just plain playing stupid?

Edit: Also, I got absolutely none of my knowledge of Halloween from Youtube video's.

People need to lay off that relationship between the commercialized trick or treating and the pagan worship stuff. Many kids are ostrasized at school because they're parents won't let them dress up as a costume. to a lot of kids that's the whole world and it can actually tramatize a kid for life. So that side of it I that parents should just let there kids go trick or treating and have fun. There's no point in getting so worried about that side of it just being a bunch of satanists are in the woods doing some bad stuff. It's just candy custumes and fun for the kids. Let them enjoy it.

Even if it did matter what matters more is who has the power and who doesn't. Satan isn't all fun. And God isn't all discipline.

So by that logic, we should also then allow all the little ones to carry cancer causing mobile phones, so they may too further 'fit in' with this broken society's 'mainstream mold' that is toxic to the core, and that for all it's rampant godlessness (voidness of Truth) has no sense of what is right or wrong anymore clearly by the consensus of responses.

The fact that Helloween is associated with the death promoting distribution of toxic sugar is most fitting, as most are too ignorant and spiritually overcome to realise what they are actually giving reverence to in this occultic celebration. I applaud the few wise parents who know what this seemingly 'harmless' caper is all about when the master of cunning and deception Lucifer knows just how to entice-- with everything that seems so 'sweet and innocent and fun' that has families worldwide partaking in a ritual adhering to all that represents the spiritual death and it's becoming, void of Life.

I stopped celebrating Halloween years ago due to its excessive, consumer-driven nature which yields a lot of unnecessary waste and crappy processed foods. Just one of the steps I've taken on my slow path to low-impact living (I'm tryin ... )

Additionally, if you're a christian and you reject this holiday due to its pagan roots, well done. It's as simple as not participating. That's all. No condemning others or proselytizing necessary. Just do your thing, peacefully with humility and contentment.

But to do so while simultaneously embracing Easter, Christmas, etc., is confusing and inconsistent. There is no legitimate Scriptural basis for any of those "holidays" and moreover, we're actually admonished NOT to partake in pagan ritual and tradition (the root of those "holidays"). We are commanded to keep His holy days, not man's.

I'm not a Jehovah's Witness or a Seventh Day Adventist or any denomination. I just read Scripture.

If you're going to wage a polemic on Halloween because of it's "Satanic roots" - please be consistent regarding the other faux holidays as well.

All that aside - I think people should consider boycotting the commercialism of ALL holidays. Just MHO.

Regards,

FTE

Christ offended everywhere he went. He opened his mouth plenty enough to have many others want to call for blood and have Him murdered. He still loved and cared enough to preach right and wrong and all followers in Truth are Called to do the same when the Holy Spirit reveals in Him what is clearly a wrong---and this practice of occultic energy lending reverence is exactly that.

ignorance, that's just pure ignorance.
to justify your actions according to a man that may or not have lived 2000 or so years ago.
not just ignorance but also a very selfish course of action.
you know better because the spirit told you so, yeah right that's called lunacy.

i can understand some moderate christians like the one you quoted to then insert your extremist view.
because that's it you're an extremist, no better than those extremist muslims claiming jihad.

cancer of the earth really all you religious freaks

i do wish your savior was real and returned just to slap you silly for advocating religious extremism.
hypocrites, judge not because you know the rest...
remember one thing this christ figure supposedly was a pretty humble guy, yet you followers walking around parading your jesus memes saying you have the spirit and are saved and what else, therefore entitled to act and speak in whatever ways you see fit about everything and anyone. and that usually comes off simply like the arrogance of spoiled little brats.

i rather have an interest in the occult than join up your unholy and not so humble little brainwashing cult.
i don't need a savior or a cop out for my actions because i fear neither living nor dying.

and what comes after death, none of us fools knows because none of us ever returned to tell the rest of us how it's like.

feel free to believe in your fairytales, but never again let your fairytales excuse your own actions.

personal responsibility is what you devoted christians need, because jesus called in sick, he's not coming, if you want to wait please grab a chair and do it in silence.

The world came to Christ in eager throngs, by the droves, by the multitudes. You don't see the masses tripping over themselves to catch a glimpse of the average Christian believer. Teaching doesn't work if there are no ears to hear. ONCE someone approaches you, asks you why you don't celebrate Halloween, asks you to expound on your beliefs, etc., - such is the hour for sharing your faith and reason. Otherwise, your justification falls on deaf ears. Every time. Christ knew this:

"If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town." ~ Matthew 10:14

Christ offended everywhere he went

Yes. What's critical however is that everywhere He went, He was sent.

Do not go where you are not sent.

FTE

Everyone and anyone is free to ignore my expressions and 'walk on by', though I am not Called to remain silent.

People do not come here for the sound of silence, therefore such information shared here is for seekers with the willful intent of 'denying ignorance', and not for the willfully deaf and blind to the Light of Truth in Him and the Kingdom, that Inspires and Grants all Truth to souls in the Image. They however in essence are better off silent for their own sake in the harm they bring to themselves.

Such will be the hostile hearts of the persecutors of the faithful--and there will be blood shed by the true faithful for His name's sake, that too is a profound truth.

Do not go where you are not sent.

Respectfully, you know not what prompts and Guides me where, how and why.

If you have long been dedicated in heart to seeking Truth and living with love for our Creator and neighbor alike, then you would by default have been Divinely Led to the Son, who is our King of Salvation.

It is not wise to attack what you are yet to moreso perceive and I bear no hostility to you. It is the wicked based deeds of mankind I take issue with (both willfully and in chosen ignorance), and not the person afflicted by wickedness by the many hands they do not see nor comprehend in this 'fallen' state--the very entities that Helloween glorifies and gives a reverence to in celebration.

No one is saying dress up evil for Halloween. You could dress up as an Angel. I know when I was little I was scared to dress up as a devil.

oh mercy mercy mercy.. first off i walked about 5 miles last night trick or treating with the kids.. I don't know about you but I got 2 little mini candy bars for the effort.. i'm quite sure walking 5+ miles = good for you... Halloween really picked up because of the Victorian era when it was customary to be involved in the community .. you know paying visits to the neighbors... oh and lets not forget how evil it is to remember one's manners and say thank you for the trick or treat.. truly evil that concept of learning is... oh and dressing up as princesses and super hero's.. lord that is the devil at work right there... because we all know your not really a princess or a superhero so... thats deceitful too... and just inviting the evil into your home....

Honestly, I don't know which is sadder.. probably the fact that you actually believe what you said to be true..

You know what? There are two kinds of people in this society. Those who hand out goodies to the kids on Hallowe'en. And those who kill the lights and don't answer the door. Need I say more?
