Women: Sen. Bob Menendez paid us for sex in the Dominican Republic
edit on 1-11-2012 by loam because: (no reason given)

The man went to the Dominican Republic, paid prostitutes to have intercourse with him, and then ripped them off? That is disgusting and abhorrent. It does not matter though, he is a Democrat in New Jersey – this will have absolutely no effect upon his election. I know our politicians are not exactly known for their virtuous behavior but we should expect a little more from them than this.

Let us not forget what Senator Menendez said about the prostitution scandal involving the Secret Service Agents.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right Senator Menendez?

Pretty obvious who really wages a war on women and has zero respect for them. Add to that his cheating them out of money he promised in advance. I mean who cares about a couple of stupid foreign whores, right?

I have zero problem with adults having sex, it's none of my business. That is not the issue here. This guy is a creep and a cheat. I certainly would not trust him to represent me.

Any self respecting woman who would vote for this guy and call herself "liberal" needs to check herself.

Do me a favor please. Do not ever lecture me about conservatives and how they mistreat women.

You never bring all your money with you when dealing with Dominican prostitutes, duh.

Democrat: rips of prostitutes in the Dominican Republic
Republican: solicits male prostitutes in airport bathrooms

I see the logic here.

On it's own, this would be a non story however a few things...one, he is denying it ever happened. two, these er a ladies claim he lied to them and didn't pay them properly. three, he was very vocal about the secret service prostitute scandal.

I don't care if a 53 year old single man pays for sex but politicians are held to a higher standard. And I definitely have a problem with one rips off his prostitute.

STOP REPUBLICAN PEDOPHILIA

But oh my god..that democratic politician..how dare he have sex with Dominican prostitutes.
edit on 1-11-2012 by kerazeesicko because: I CAN

Actually, if you read most of the comments after the name was released, you'll see that most of us are in agreement.....

Single man has sex with escort = no scandal.
[other than failure to pay original price....sound familiar
]

So no, I see nothing dramatic here.......

This is not a right/left thing. This is a human thing. It's about treating people with dignity and respect. I have no issue with gays or gay sex. Adults can do what ever they please as long as it is consensual and not abusive. Making an agreement upfront and then cheating someone because she doesn't have as much power as you is abusive. Hurting a child is abusive. So please take your lecture and [snipped].

Men and women like this senator, that's who. People who use their considerable power and espouse something they do not believe or practice for political gain. They can be found in both parties. The "war on women" Is nothing more than a phony meme to capture voters. I find the hypocrisy of denying rights to people in same sex relationships to be equally hypocritical and used to capture a certain voting block. It is insulting and distasteful to me.

mark my words.

Can you give us some source for Richard Lugar? BTW Murdouch is now the nominee. I don't think Murdouch and Akin's words are as bad as Senator Menendez's actions in the Dominican Republic.

Video and Article from Daily Caller:

Women: Sen. Bob Menendez paid us for sex in the Dominican Republic By Matthew Boyle Investigative Reporter

Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year. In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100. The women spoke through a translator in the company of their attorney, Melanio Figueroa. Both asked that their identities remain obscured for fear of reprisals in the Dominican Republic. When shown a photograph of Sen. Menendez, the women said they recognized him as the man with whom they’d had sexual relations at Casa de Campo this spring. Both said they were brought to the resort with the understanding they would be paid for sex. Neither knew the identity of the man at the time. Both claimed to recognize him later as Sen. Menendez. “He called him[self] ‘Bob,’” said one. One woman said Menendez wooed her with compliments like “beautiful” before they slept together. The other woman recounted, with apparent bitterness, receiving from an intermediary only $100 of the $500 she had been promised. “He lies,” she said of Menendez. “He says one thing and does another.” According to the translator’s summary, Menendez “was nice at first, but then later he did not seem to care about her.” Menendez, who is 58 and divorced, has represented New Jersey in the U.S. Senate as a Democrat since being appointed to fill a vacancy in 2005. He is up for re-election on Nov. 6. Asked about the allegations, Menendez spokeswoman Tricia Enright refused to answer any questions on the subject. “We’re not going to respond to a completely false accusation,” she wrote by email. It is known that Sen. Menendez has been a regular visitor to the Dominican Republic. On at least one occasion, according to a news account, Menendez has been a guest at the Casa de Campo home of a friend and campaign donor named Salomon Melgen, an ophthalmologist and owner of an eye clinic in Florida. Melgen has donated $14,700 to Menendez’s campaigns since 1993, with the bulk of it coming since he became a U.S. Senator, according to Federal Election Commission data collected by the Center for Responsive Politics. Melgen also appears to have lent Menendez the use of his plane on several occasions. Menendez’s 2012 public schedule shows no events listed for Easter or the following three days. On Easter Sunday this year, aircraft records obtained by TheDC show that Melgen’s plane left Florida the morning of Easter Sunday, stopped at the Teterboro private airport near Menendez’s home in New Jersey, and flew on to the Dominican Republic. Two days later it returned to the United States, from a private airport near Casa de Campo.

Maybe they over-promised and under-delivered and he paid them accordingly, we can all relate to that right?

Best thing that could happen to this country:

Obama caught sleeping with Susan Rice America's Ambassador to the UN. Or - Hilliary. Take care of two birds with one shot.

Just noticed this, might explain a lot of this.

receiving from an intermediary only $100 of the $500 she had been promised.

If that "intermediary" was another politician, a pimp or some other highly esteemed individual that is where the $400 is. If that is the case, I'd say he is being falsely accused of shorting them 80%. The dirtbag/douchebag accusation seems to be pretty much spot on though.

Or perhaps the senator thought it was part of either a buy one get one free or clearance or black friday type of discount on the pricings
Either way, for a senator, at the least he could have done is paid the agreed price knowing very well that such actions would eventually come back to temporarily disrupt/haunt their career. I do agree however that he is single and has all the right to engage in mutually consented activities with prostitutes (where its legal). Basically this only shows his true side that he can change and backout on his promises...especially to women
