Lockheed martin missiles and fire control are developing the low cost autonomous attack system(smart submunition) for the US air force and army. Locaas is focused on two variations the unpowered locaas and the powered locaas. Both versions carry a multimode explosively formed penetrator warhead. The warhead can be dentonated rod penatrator, an aerostable slug, or as fragments based on the hardness of the target. Target aimpoint and warhead mode are automaticaly determined by the lockheed developed laser radar seeker. Either vehicle can be dispensed from the air force SUU-64 tactical munitions dispenser, internal weapons bay carriage , a munitions ejector rack, or external pylons.
