Is the ABC network trying to push your buttons?

If there is one MSM network I particularly despise it would be ABC. But I do watch Nightline to hear their extremely left winged propaganda and I enjoy watching Jimmy Kimmel, cause he's funny and he's not a hardcore liberal like others on the network.

Anyways last night, I forgot the name of the show but I exited the room and left the TV on. When I came back there was a show on discussing the worlds first known or at least publicly known transgendered couple. The boy was turned into a girl and the girl into a boy and they were dating each other.

Ewwww.

With that I changed the channel, but it got me thinking.

First of all these kids, looked very young like teenagers, so how did they pay for their operation or who payed for it and what would possess someone so young to do such a thing?

Does ABC have an agenda? Obviously they do, but is part of their agenda to push your buttons?

Also, I know the LGBTQ community talk about equality until they are blue in the face, but is this taking it a little bit too far?

Discuss.

My favorite was last night during the extended coverage of hurricane Sandy. They were doing a piece on the presidential election. Every time they were talking about Obama they showed him in some type of meeting, while when they talked about Romney they showed him campaigning. All of it was old video.

Why exactly are the medias and governments across the Western world suddenly, all at the same time, pushing the gay rights bandwagon?

Is there perhaps something going on that we are supposed to be distracted from?

I think it's just a pent up minority that's been literally dreaming of the day when they didn't have to hide anymore. That's the fair side...and probably, in my opinion, 90% of the people who do form that minority in society.

...the 10% who remain among them are the ones for whom equality and fair treatment will never be enough and a full reverse of roles to punish what they see as wrongs is all that will ever satisfy them. I have no problem with the 90% of their community. The 10%? Well.... I'd love to go skydiving with a few parachutes short to the total people on board. (cinches up straps) Everyone ready to jump? Together now.....3.. 2.. 1..

I think it's just you who was ' offended' by it.

The only agenda i see to change the minds of how we can accept this, is just that, to make it more accepting so they aren't discriminated against.
Discrimination is a horrible thing. It really is and it hurts.

I don't understand it myself but I'm not suffering any gender issues so I could understand it.
If they are saying they are suffering being trapped in the wrong body, I have to believe they are and sympathize.

No MSM is going to appeal 100% of the time to 100% of the people. Let me guess OP, you love Fox News and Swamp People? I'm right aren't I? LOL

I don't personally understand trangendered people, but I think they have every right to be who they are.

It is certainly a little odd, but what's the difference to anyone really? It shouldn't matter. They are people and deserved to be treated like everyone else. I don't know why people who are against gay rights would bat an eye either. Anyway you look at it, they are still in a hetero relationship.

This 100%

OP, what was pushing your buttons here? The fact that a TV station was airing a transgender couples story, or the fact that you are prejudice against transgendered people? (and from your response, that is a FACT)
trans people are people too. Get over yourself.

now this, on gthe other hand, is a perfectly reasonable response from someone who is a hetero person, who doesn't actually have a problem with peeple being different. And I for one, applaud these types of responses. because they ask genuine questions without bias, and there's nothing wrong with that.

And to answer your question Osiris, you don;t need to understand transgender stuff, if you or nobody you know are transgender, as it doesn't affect your daily life. You've already got the whole "it shoiuldn't matter" thing, and to be honest, that's all that matters. Yeah sure, maybe you could become more accuainted with trans issues, but that's not important. It might help you understand some of the whys and stuff, but IMO, you have the perfect attitude.

David Cameron trying to push through gay marriage, even although it wasn't in his manifesto, torie grass roots voters are against it and the public have no appetite for it.Alex Salmond, exactly the same.

Thanks.

Any lack of understanding about transgendered people on my part simply comes from not knowing one. I don't have a transgendered friend to sit down and ask questions. Reading about it on the internet doesn't really tell me anything... but I'm happy for these two that they found their place in the world.. and might actually find happiness, most of us can't say the same.

That's not really pushing a manefesto as such, more pandering for votes. poiticians have to be seen to appeal to their audience, and gay people, like it or not, are a real audience. Tories are against everything, anything which is for the people, Tories are against it. So bringing gay/trans issues up in a Tory speach, is nothing more than vote harvesting. Anything politicians do is just that, don't read too much into it. They all lie. Through their asses. This is not a sudden shift in gayness, it's just them twisting their views to make others think what they want them to think. Spin. ignore it, and ignore them. They are all muppets, Tory, Labour, Libdems, it doesn't matter. They are all the same, different faces, of the same coin. Help deny ignorance, and ignore them eejits

(sorry, I got completly sidetracked whilst writing this, because some fireworks went off and I ended up with a big ass staffy/ridgeback cross sitting on my lap, which sent my laptop flying through the air, I repaired the post as best as I could, i hope I got what I as trying to say across, kind of lost the trail)
