I really have nothing else to say. This "election" is a complete joke. You have no choice.

Is it not said that in a presidents first term they are more likely to be cautious in their decision making so as to not turn away too many voters in the next election?

If the last four years were conservative I'm really nervous about seeing the list of entitlements to be proposed in the next four years...

It may indeed be a wasted vote, but most are not willing to roll over without a fight...

Anyone other than Obama or Romney simply doesnt have a chance....Just can't see enough people voting outside of those two.

People won't stop "believing" in the election process and their illusory role in it until said process is 100% compromised - which may be currently underway.

I have to argue with that, for a very simple reason: most people are too busy doing the things we abhor to pay attention to what we're discussing here. In essence, it's far easier and more rewarding to feed from the system's teats, than to wean yourself off and beat your way through an untrodden path.

And when you've spent your life growing up beneath the careful tutelage of prominent businessmen and political figures (as so many current leaders often have) change is a very hard thing to manage, because all you know is what you're familiar with. Those are the only skills you have.

And in the end, you look around and decide the hell that could be is much worse than the hell that is.

While you may be right, we should intend that people break free from that.

And so I have started a thread Make your Vote Count.

Shed your preconceptions and do something about it right now -- even if it is just to experiment. Just see what happens.

Go there and vote y'all. People have named their candidates and the voting process has begun.

Just click "Make your Vote Count".

Why would I stay home just because a couple of idiots take up a small section of the ballot? Voting isn't just about voting for a president. I have no idea what I'll be scribbling in that box. But I'm going to vote to contribute my voice on the propositions and measures, most importantly PROP 37. If we can still make a difference even if only on a smaller level, then there's plenty of reason not to stay home.

They're both apart of the same two-headed dragon. So sad that people refuse to see this and refuse to accept that they're backed by people who control everything.

Well, I would prefer that to a slow death that Obama has been subjecting us to for 4 years! Do you really think the next 4 (if he were re-elected) would improve?
Gawd, you left-wingers are easy to lead around! I don't blame Obama for wanting to run again with people like you we are becoming a nation of sheep! All his lies and you still look up to him!

The whole idea that he is a socialist, pinko, Commie is the biggest farce I have ever seen perpetrated.
reply to post by Grimpachi

I have made that judgement based upon who Obama hung out with, who visits the White House, and who he has on his staff. He is a pinko commie, and that is a fact.

I've been saying that for years. The majority of voters base their votes along party lines. Heck, I swear if they did any kind of research on their candidates position, they probably would be surprised they were going to vote for them.

By having voters answering questions pertaining to the issues of either candidate, they would at least have cast an intelligent vote rather than the same ignorant image and party vote. With the technology we have today, it could easily be done. as long as we had checks and balances. We could easily throw out the party system, campaign financing, political ads, political spin doctors and conventions, which is costing the American taxpayers millions of dollars.

Two thumbs up for this idea.
and a star for you.

Johnson has no chance and thats a given, but if an independant gets 5% then next election time will be a whole new ball game. Federal election funding will change everything, friend!

A vote for Johnson is not wasted!

You are downright deceiving people, which is normal for right wingers.

You don't know what you are talking about, which is normal for leftist extremists. I bet I've lived a lot longer than you; and, therefore, have watched politics a lot longer. The leftists, having renounced religeon and ethics, are the first to lie, cheat, steal, and precipitate violence. You do know that the KKK was started by Democrats, don't you? When I observed the race riots in the 60s and 70s, it was ALWAYS the Democrats who were violent and trying to deprive blacks of their rights. The Republicans were foremost in fostering legislation that broke up segregation.

Here's a question.

If everyone stays home, will Obama remain as President?

I truly understand the disgust with the political system, but really, what choice do we have?
If we don't play the game, we'll get screwed even worse.

Just a matter of how we choose to apply the political KY ourselves,
"liberally"or "conservatively"?

The Vietnam war was started by JFK and accelerated by LBJ. Nixon got us out.

Obama didn't pull us out of Afghanistan like he promised. He pulled us out of Iraq earlier than the Iraqi's wanted, and now they have chaos.

Obama let our ambassador and his support people die as he watched them. There were assets in place that could have helped them. By international law, an attack on an embassy is an attack against the sovererign soil of the represented nation.

Yeah, you leftist-extremists sure do know how to run things.

You fell on your head a lot as a child didn't you?
This attitude is a lot of what is wrong with the country. I can't fix it myself so I'm not going to do anything. That's just brilliant. The country can get back on the right track, but it isn't going to happen by inaction.

Edit: the stars and flags for this thread just help me prove my point. We are becoming a great "Do nothing" country... Awesome.
