Just watching abc and a crane on the top of a high rise condo under construction in NYC is collapsing. Police have blocked off the roads while they wait to see it it's going to fall. It's just hanging there from the roof in Manhattan.

Strange question, will this affect ATS servers or otherwise? If there is a major power outage, will we see ATS go down? For some this is a life line to real time events. I would hate to see it go down.

I don't believe ATS servers will be affected by east coast weather. I could be wrong though..

I think you're right. I think it's based in the west?

Still windy and rainy here, nothing major yet though. Waiting even longer. Made some good hamburgers though.

No, it's a condo tower under construction. It's basically snapped off and hanging down the side of the building.

That's what the talking heads on abc said. They asked why it hadn't been taken down. Probably down to cost and the person making he decision underestimating the strength of the wind.

Hey guys I have been a long-time reader of ATS (since I was in Iraq back in 2008) and decided to finally go ahead and make an account due to this thread!

I am leaving for Afghanistan at the end of the week, but am currently in the Patuxent River area of the Chesapeake Bay. I am a couple of hours away from the gentleman who started this thread up in Baltimore, so I will do my best to flow updates from the DC area.

I am planning on taking some pictures with my DSLR Camera and iPhone and if I get any good pictures, I will gladly upload them for everyone to see!

P.S. glad to finally be a contributor to this fine website!

I don't know what you're watching, but I am watching the "tallest residential building in the world" under construction, with the crane dangling from the top. They are talking about it now, broadcasting live, the streets are blocked off all around 57th and 7th streets.

We're not talking about the freedom tower

Whatever you guys who are in it do,make job 1 to stay dry.

If you get wet,you will find out it's a lot colder than you thought it was.

If you lose power, you lose heat, refridgeration, light.

Fill your bathtub up while you can so you have water.

stay dry,stay warm,stay safe.

Good luck.
