A WORLD-first Viagra-style drug for women is being developed, with Australians playing a key role.

Monash University researchers are undertaking clinical trials for the revolutionary treatment to boost female sexual arousal, appetite and satisfaction.

The product, known as Tefina, contains testosterone and is sprayed in the nose in the hours before any sexual activity.

Experts said the treatment could help nearly one in three women around the world who did not get full satisfaction and fundamentally transform relationships.

Viagra for women?

I think its a bit misleading because viagra for men doesn`t make males want to have sex, rather its supposed to help with maintaing an erection,so it has nothing to do with arousal.

The spray for women is on the other hand directed at boosting sexual arousal.

I can see this selling like hot cakes if the trials are successful.

I can imagine men and husbands going out to get their six pack of beer and a six pack of womens viagra.

women squirting testosterone up their nose. doesn't get any sexier than that.

but as long as she's raving nympho in bed its all good.

until you run into a tefina addict. you'll easily be able to tell a woman abusing tefina, she'll be the one with a full grown beard.

Shouldn't we be researching chemicals that cause endocrine disruption? Now if you'll excuse me, I can't seem to recall where I've put my paperclips.

If you have a raging erection.. chances are you want to have sex.

EDIT: Also.. do males really need anything to get them in the 'mood'? Haha I think not..

I'm fairly certain they do? Or viagra could cure gay people? (jokes! jokes! Don't set me on fire, thanks)

Can see it becoming the next 'expected' go to pill/spray/med for the next generation next to contraception operations etc ...

This will turn them into raging sexual predators looking for their next bone so they can get their fix.

I dont see any guys having a problem with this.

Except those guys whos married wives are at the clubs snorting it in the back room.

women are already horny enough- this will increase the female/male rape ratio to almost equal levels. Cept I dont see too many men yelling rape.

and something else going down the drain in the toilet and getting into the waters that end up in the environment.... and another something to become addicted to and make people slaves to the pharmaceutical companies.... and another something that will be proven to have far worse side effects than whatever it is meant to treat or alter about a human being. Fun for a few hours in bed? Sure! Other consequences? SURE!

testosterone creates muscle mass and other factors. Maybe they will be singing barotone after using it for a while.

The difference is,viagra does not give a male an erection. It just maintains it once achieved. These trials they are doing for women is much different, its directed on getting a women aroused.

Men in general do have a higher sex drive than women, but I`d say for sure,of coarse there are many men who are never really in the mood.

I think many men would see this as fantastic,as they wouldn`t have to go through all the.. dinners ,movies, chatting, soft lights, soft music, candles and rose petals spread over the bed.

But yeah like randomname alluded to in his post,it may be abused and with testosterone, the guy may find himself being flung around like a rag doll by a bearded monster, sobbing "what have I created" hehe!
