I think it's interesting that this occurred so soon after the ETS stopped. If the ETS is supposed to relieve the stress along the Cascadia fault, but this time it didn't, could that be an indicator that it's ready to go? I hope not.

I'm in the UK so I don't know what time i'm posting compared to the last post but here on skynews they say the biggest one was 7.7 followed by a 5.8...

Poster above me says another one at 6.4....

I'll have to check our time differences.....

I heard there was a Tsunami warning for Hawaii and people had evacuated to the hills!!

Also heard there's a big storm heading over NYC with 350,000 people being evacuated!

Just had a 5.4 now... And it continues...

I just posted in another thread - this is personally freaking me out. I think it's the combination of this, Sandy, and the upcoming elections but I feel something's about to go down.

I like this USGS Real Time EQ Map. You can set it to auto-update every one minute. Just adding it to thread.

I was kind of hoping the quakes were slowing down though I don't know whether to be relieved that they are staying mostly around the Haida Gwaii and the QCF.

Now imagine living in a city that is literally on the same page as those Earthquakes,
and slowly moving south to your position
thats where i'm at.

Waiting for one to hit under my feet any minute now.

Especially since we are OVERDUE for a normal 5-7 magnitude quake.
The last one we felt was 2001 in Olympia.

Just checked time difference to West Coast of Canada compared to London and its like 7 hours behind at 12:30pm right now which means this could be a long day for those people over there watching this.... hope all get to safe grounds if a bigger quake is on the way....

Roughly 47 aftershocks all above 4.0 with many 5+ and the 6.3. All in less than 24 hours since the initial event.
They don't seem to be decreasing in strength and the space between them is very small.

I remember that one. I was living in Olympia when the Nisqually quake hit... 6.8. That was a minor or secondary fault compared this. I guess we will all just have to wait and see what happens in the next days, weeks, or even months to come.

There are no ways to predict these things.

To those of us who live along the Cascadia Subduction Zone it may be a good idea to double check your emergency supplies and add to them if you can.... you never know when the "Big One" could hit.

These are not after shocks. This major movement is foreshocks. I have never seen so many eqs over 4 and over 5 in a 24 hr period.

Another 5.2 just occurred same depth as the rest of them. So we are almost at 50 aftershocks in less than 24 hours. The only good thing about the aftershocks is that they aren't being felt or at least there are no reports so far.

I have a bag by my front door and steel toed shoes ready if the CSZ is triggered now.

Edited to add: Another 5.1 right after the 5.2.
