sorry....you are wrong

They happen up North(which is what you said) a lot

Alaska had a 7 earlier this year

4 days ago....they have a large quake about every 200 days there at 7.0

so a 1 in 50 chance

not to mention there were a series of smaller ones 5.0 happen about every 30 days

1 in 7.5 chance

See what I am doing here...and I am being easy on the numbers

the truth is they happen even more often than that

logic doesn't apply to you

you will not get it because you have convinced yourself of something

you have destroyed the scientific theory with your type of thinking so until you correct your mindset you will keep thinking this way

Peace!

Go take a look if you haven't.
It doesn't really matter though honestly.
I don't care if you don't believe me,
just sick of people saying people can't predict things.

Does anyone remember what happened prior to the 9.0 in Japan on March 11, 2011?

Magnitude 7.9 NEAR THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN March 11, 2011
Magnitude 9.0 NEAR THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN March 11, 2011
Magnitude 7.3 NEAR THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN March 09, 2011

There was a mag 7.3 two days prior, not saying this will happen but you never know.

Yeah, I've become obsessed. We're up to 39 in the area now, if you go to the USGS zoom in on the zone where the activity is. Set it for all quakes in last 30 days this is pretty much the only activity this section of the fault has seen. They just keep rolling.

Not trying to sensationalize things, but this is out of the ordinary for this stretch.

I saw the post by another member, yes Alaska get's them all the time, but BC doesn't usually get too many decent quakes, this is thrilling for us.

Spiritual and into meditation, yes.

Although I don't meditate as much as I probably should.
Things tend to get freaky for me if I do it to much.

Try a candle flame for meditation, just stare at it for a while and every time your mind wanders or thoughts pop in, just imagine a broom sweeping them away and keep looking at the candle flame, eventually you will begin to fall into a meditative state if you don't give up. Co0uld take a few days to weeks to get it right, but I had the same problem. My mind would not shut down enough to get into a meditative state until I tried the candle flame meditation. After that, once I learned what state of mind I was getting into, it became easier to do.

As to Dec 21st 2012?

As far as I can tell, it will be another day.
I don't see the end of the world on Dec 21st

I just got a message from someone in my hometown in Alaska that they felt the earthquake there.

That's about 600 or 700 miles up the coast.

How from from the epicenter is this from Yellowstone? Could a shock wave disrupt it's magma chamber?

Just throwing it ok there

I would be more worried that the shaking starts to move south
into more populated areas like Seattle.
I hope not.

This is all about possibilities though, isn't it?

What is more probable, considering all the historical data? Is it more likely that there will be a larger one after a 7.7, or is it more likely that there will be equal or lesser magnitude aftershocks?

I would put it to you that the Japanese EQ was a rare event, and that in the vast majority of instances there is actually NOT a larger EQ after a 7 +

So why make posts like this pointing out the more unlikely scenario, while ignoring the most likely scenario?

This is just more of the scaremongering that ATS is pretty much famous for. Too many people immediately go to the worst case scenario and ignore all the historical evidence and actual facts in favour of drama and doom.
