The core reason for all suffering is the focus on lack. By focusing on lack, we suffer wanting something that we don't have. It leads to daydreaming and then coming back to reality and giving up hope. Lack becomes obsessive and then we forget about all of things that we DO have in life that we CAN be happy about.

When we believe in lack, this leads to greed (feelings of needing more and more), it leads to jealousy (feeling angry that a person has something that you do not), it leads to fear (feelings of shortage leads to defensiveness and insecurity)...

This is why I've been encouraging Appreciation so much lately. Not only does it take your mind off of the lack that you think is there, but it relaxes you, eventually changes your perspective on things, and it is good for the heart (cohesion).

You have abundance now, you just have to focus on THIS (what is here for you now) instead of focusing on THAT (lack - what you want to be here or what was here but no longer is).

Even if you had absolutely nothing, you still have an abundance of air that you are breathing... There is always SOMETHING to remind you of plentifulness, the richness, the sufficiency of existence...

You are the voice of common sense. Many people would last expect to find common sense in the Metaphysical and Philosophical section. When all is said and done in debates about the mystery and meaning of life it has to be faced that Metaphysical and Philosophical is a holygrail search for common sense.

I have seen that one already. Basically a fixiation obession on needs separates a person from being able to live happy because they are perptually distracted and at unrest.

I have to strongly disagree. Sometimes suffering is the overabundance of something negative. In some situations lack of something is the thing that is desired. There is nothing you could obtain that would remedy the situation.

You do have a point the reasons for suffering is not a straight forward one thing alone longing going un fulfilled. There are other reasons that can and do come into play.

Yes I agree with you, there is so much available to us all if we look in the right way. It is so close believe that everything must come from far away, we don't trust the source.

If you are sick and you want to be healthy (get rid of sickness), you are still holding a vision in your mind that is not here that you would like to be here.

The Here, there and everywhere of removiing suffering and sickness is this

Think positive. Be determined. And renounance the sickness with full purpose of intent.

Do that and be

The core reason for all suffering is the focus on lack.

I suffer because of the exact opposite. I have 'TOO MUCH' ... too much of not feeling well.
I'd love to 'lack' my autoimmune disease. But I'm stuck with it for the rest of my life.
I suppose you could say that I suffer from lack of feeling well.
But really, the disease came first and caused the lack of feeling well.
So really .. I suffer because of 'TOO MUCH' disease. It caused the 'lack' elsewhere ...

If you can follow that ..

Can you control the thoughts?
Thoughts appear, you do not put them there.

Thoughts are appearances. The appearance appears and is known.
No one can control what appears.
