Awesome! I knew that Arnold would "be back" in another movie...but a return to a Conan movie that sent him to stardom is something I really look forward to seeing again

Schwarzenegger, 65, will play the sword-swinging hero in "The Legend of Conan," 30 years after the film that launched the Austrian body-builder as a Hollywood star.

"I always loved the Conan character, and I'm honored to be asked to step into the role once again," Schwarzenegger said in a statement.

The original films, 1982's "Conan the Barbarian" and 1984's "Conan The Destroyer," together grossed more than $70 million at U.S. box office.

The "Conan" franchise was remade in 2011 with "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa, but the film -- also called "Conan the Barbarian" -- failed to repeat the success of its predecessors, earning only $21 million at the North American box office, according to film tracking site BoxOfficeMojo.com.

Of course, you can be definitely sure the make-up crew will be dumping a tonne of make up on Arnie to get him looking a tad bit more youthful...it will be interesting nevertheless to see when and how this movie will perform when it hits the boxoffice!

By the way, when that new Conan movie came out last year, it was done terribly. I am sure Arnold will be partly in charge of producing and writing the script. He will turn it into a blockbuster movie for sure!

Hmmm, hope he gets on some Human Growth Hormone or they put his head on someone else body digitally cuz... yeah. No thanks.

I have my doubts about this. He didn't reprise his role in the last Terminator movie - it was all CGI. Yet he does for a role he played while still relatively unknown.. Actually, if they pull decent live action cgi over his body while acting, keeping the face as is (cgi faces always suck) and get away with it, it could work out pretty well.

And they did give those blokes in that 300 movie some ripped abs to cover their paunch guts.. lol

I'm shocked they don't make Conan the king like the 36 issue comic series. That would be a great pick up to where they left off. He's around the right age for the part now

....but before he plays this role...he has another one to play!
