Schwarzenegger Funds Stem Cell Research

Wow...a republican I actually respect! Good for you Arnold! This is something that he believed in even though the majority of his party did not. I have a lot of respect for this man and I can believe that his attempts to bring the two parties together are real. The country is now more divided than ever with the right vs. left, although I fall pretty far to the left what is all this arguing and bickering doing for our country? We need more leaders like Arnold who don't see things as just black and white...both parties are going to have to give a little in order for this country to truly be united once again.

Stem cell research has not been banned in the United States. In fact the only President to have ever used federal funds to do this is our current President, George W. Bush. While you may not like Bush or his stance, he did fund this type of research.

Kerry talks about doing it, but he has never once authored a bill that would fund this. He's all talk.

While I personally do not like the Mandeleian approach used in embryonic stem cell research, I do support the use of adult stem cells. I personally find it revolting that we would follow Joseph Mendele example and do research on those who can not defend themselves. The philosophy of they are going to be destroyed anyway was the same exc

use/reason used by the 18 Nazi doctors convicted and hanged in Nurenburg for crimes against humanity. The doctors believe that the good outweighed the bad just doesn't hold water. But this is my personal believe and I can not force my believe on those who have other opinions.

While I support President Bush, I disagree with use of federal money to do embryonic Stem cell research.

Life is precious, and while we disagree on when life begins, I believe at conception, it is your right to voice your opposition to my views. I will stand and fight for right to disagree with me, Unfortunately, most people on the left do not share my belief in the 1st admentment.

Thank you for expressing your viewpoint in such an eloquent manner...while I don't agree with your opinion I do see where you are coming from.

!!!!

well, i for one, dont want to sign in @ AOL to link your newsline story

I believe the 3mill $$ is to BUILD A RESEARCH CENTER only !!

He's true to the Rep. party line...cause ' the Research Center will need staff and equipment to operate...those things are not a 'cost' to taxpayers rather a 'revenue source' for the state treasury....

go Arnold....

lecky, this is a hot botton issue for a lot of people. How can we find out why someone believes a certain way if we are screaming at them. I live in a Democratic state, we are definately going to be a blue state, I have had my property destroyed and vandalized because I have a Bush/Cheney sign out. While this election is important, the politics of destruction practiced by both sides while do more harm than good. My neighbor is a big time Democrat, but we get along well, he states why he believes in the Democratic Party, but he also allows me to state why I am a Republican. It's funny, his wife is a big time Republican, so who knows what their kids will be.

Arnold seems to apeal to both sides Rep and Dem. He seems to have many stances that go against party lines and is not afraid to act on them.

I think so far he is doing a great job in California.

I can't say it enough but I like seeing issues where both Republicans and Democrats agree...and that I'm really impressed with a politician who is not afraid to show some support for their opposing side.

I am also glad to come to a forum where people can express their opinions in a polite and sophisticated manner it's a breath of fresh air coming from the aol forum for this particular topic. Here are some sample responses I received when posting about this issue there...lol..

"I DON'T RESPECT ANY LIBERAL YOUR A KERRY SHEEP BAA BAA BAA"

"Republicans don't need nor want the respect of a Limp Lefty clown like you. Move to France and live with the other Socialist scum, you insignificant waste of American space."

"So its ok with you to slaughter a unborn child,to to save your
sorry butt., Thats Wrong ! I always knew Arnold was a wolf in sheeps clothing ! Promised to get Califorina out of dept,But just sinks them in to more dept"

lecky, you will find that here also, It goes both ways. We Republicans get abused by your fellow Democrats all the time. I for one will be glad when this election is over and we can go back and talk about something besides Kerry and Bush.

No no no...I totally agree with you. It does come from both sides...please forgive me that I didn't mention that before. It's not just one party who is at fault it's everyone.

Lecky I cant stand those AOL boards they are full of some of the most moronic and close minded people I have ever seen on the internet. I have gone to some topics there and they often turn into a racist flame war
