I have a 10s recording (batteries ran out) of a LARGE bright orange fireball on the 25/10/2012 filmed over Worcester, UK at around 10:00pm GMT
winter-time... It took about 30s to a minute to disappear over a slightly hilly horizon on a steady trajectory (no wind influence) and did not look or
move like a Chinese lantern or shower of small white/yellow meteors and didn't have a visible tail (it was dark though)..
I can't find any other sightings from the UK (didn't look to hard) but this happened in Moroco around the same day: Mega ice meteor lands in
Morocco

My guess is all these atmospheric observations / impact(s) are related.
