BRITISH police say officers have identified 300 potential victims of the late Jimmy Savile, the disgraced BBC entertainer now believed to be a predatory pedophile.
Commander Peter Spindler said on Thursday officers had identified 300 potential victims so far - including two men.

He told reporters police had spoken to 130 people.

It is easier to discredit someone when they are dead. In this Case Saville is actually dead. Well he has been dead for a while.
Allegations of abuse going back decades and participation by other BBC entertainers/ management.

Make sense that this goes all the way to the PM’s office and really it is not a stretch that it also goes into the Royal Family. I have no direct evidence as such and one would hope not , however, I find it almost impossible to believe that someone so well - known has been abusing victims for so long , without so much as a whiff.

I also believe they are going to make Saville a huge patsy to attempt to divert the attention away from other people involved. The sad thing is that there is going to be hundreds of these Saville types around the world and they are all being protected.

I realize I may get flamed for this because it sounds like I am condoning that which I roundly condemn. If a human being has been through puberty they cannot by definition be considered a child. Pedophiles by term commit sexual offences against the pre-pubescent, so therefore Jimmy Saville by definition in the eyes of UK Common Law, and Statutes allegedly is in fact a sex offender of the sickest kind. To define him as a pedophile is in point of law legally inaccurate.

Prince Charles's brother is linked to a guy in south Florida who had allegations of underage girls. That story totally disappeared here in the states but I think this Savile thing should shine more light on it.

Yeah, its downright unsettling WTF else is he right about.

It is a little bit too early to tell, though I think you are correct. Using this person as a scapegoat will deflect the attention away from some pretty powerful people who are likely to be involved.

If they have managed to cover this up and other events up with the their currupt cronies, and leaders, then who is to say it will go any further?

I'm not sure if there is some form of internal conflict going on? given the power these people wield to hide this stuff, why is it now coming out in the open? (this coming hot on the heels of scandal after scandal covering media, police, parliament etc)

Or simply the dominoes have started to fall due to their own weight and more and more people at the top are starting to throw others under the bus first.

I believe this only came out after his death, as he threatened to take everyone down with him, had they done it while he was alive. It's not like the proof wasn't there.

I'm just concerned much of the connections to the establishment will be covered up. It will all be blamed on Savile and the ther connections white washed.

Savile actually stated in his book that he was let off by the Police for false imprisonment because he would have brought down half the station with him.

Just how BIG this turns out to be is anyone's guess currently.

Reports in the paper today suggest that there are 12 celebrities that will be arrested in the next few days.

The entire investigation has been broken down into three parts.

1) Victims abused by Savile

2) Victims abused by Savile and A.N Other/S

3) Victims abused by others

I heard that Jimmy Savile bummed Noel Edwards.
