My friend and what I consider my soul mate or other half ((We have similiar but very different abilities and we are also complete opposites but have a strong bond)), had once told me she has seen shadow spiders crawling over peoples faces and arms and legs. That it was freaky. I have had a friend create a shadow creature insect before and its pretty creepy. I too can create shadows but... as for me seeing it in real life, its tough. I tend to block out a lot to myself after twice seeing two full apparitions. One while I slept and the other while I was awake. The fact you see them too is quite interesting. Be honest, she lives in Scotland and stuff but yeah. I wish you luck and have no advice except to try to not become too paranoid. If you think your seeing things, take a week to relax your mind and let it go. If it continues, I'd say your not crazy and just need to do your own research. Best of luck from the "Raven" or as my username is now, Rishiana.

Well researching this read things about bottom feeders and how due to negative or stressful events we get weak spots in our auras and these critters can really do a number on our auric field and affect our health.

And plus have wondered about the universe as we see it out there, lots of monster planets, web like structures. Hellish almost as if we're either viewing it from the next level, into the abyss, or were dragged to hell and are trying to raise earth back up and out. Well that should be the goal.

This is very creepy. Think positive thoughts and sending healing energy to everyone and self, and doing all one can to be positive may help alot.

Last night at 2.56 am i woke from a dream and looked out my open window, and what I saw was s large silhouette of a spider about a foot across climbing back up an unseen string.
It was a large spider and to its own perception had mass, every inch or so that it pulled itself up, it paused to reset it legs to pull again as if it was too heavy to run back up like normal spiders. I thought I was hallucinating coming out of a dream and I may have. But it didn't fade away for a good 15-20 seconds as I watched this thing in astonishment. Ive never seen a Shadow anything before. The first thing my mind found initially difficult to grasp was why was it see through! I kinda brushed it off and fell back asleep nothing you can do lol.

I've definitely seen animal entities (dogs, cats, and an orangutan once?). Spirits can come in the form of animals if they associate themselves closely to a particular animal. But I also believe animals have their own souls. I've never heard of insect entities though. Interesting

I am amazed to find this information on this subject. I have noticed a lot of the people experiencing this phenomenon have also had alot of similar likewise run ins with shadow creatures of any kind. Some referring to being in a twilight, or, dreamlike state. My experience is somewhat different.

I have never dealt with anything like this before, and I haven't since this one particular time. I was wide awake. I was going into my garage to smoke a cigarette. The garage light was off. I opened the door, and at the back, right in front of the garage door, there was the deep black shadow in the form of a tarantula. As I said, I was already dark, but the form was a deeper dark than the entire room. As soon at I saw it, it started scurrying towards the wall, up the wall and into a hole. Now, I come into contact with many spiders in my home but nothing like this. I am a rational individual and know that my eyes did not deceive me. I couldn't explain it. Like I said, that was the only time I have seen this and it was shortly after we moved into our rental home.

So since this instance, I have now been going out back to smoke...

Since about the mid 1970's I've been a big reader. As a child, whether I was inside, outside, or in the back of a moving car, I was reading a book. I don't recommend reading a book in the back of a moving car, by the way. Every so often, when things are quiet and I'm alone and reading, I'll see something moving out of the corner of my eye. It's small, about the size of a big bug or small mouse, dark grey to black in color. I can't describe the shape because I more just sense the movement than actually see anything. Naturally, it's not there when I turn my head to look at it directly. A time or two, I've tried to just ignore it. In those cases, the movement will continue until I give in and turn my head. I've written it off as flickering light from the television, flickering light from a bad lamp (old house with old wiring), fluttering curtain or piece of paper, floaters, etc. It doesn't look like any of those, mind you, but those are the answers my rational mind comes up with.

Even more rarely, when I first wake up, I see a big (large end of normal) black spider crawling along a random wall or ceiling. They only appear for a few seconds, then crawl into a hole and disappear. After I get out of bed and turn on the lights, most of the time I can't find any holes where I saw them disappear. I live in a partially finished basement. There are enough real spiders and insects that I can see when I'm awake. I don't need to see them when I'm half asleep.

Back in 2014, I awoke and saw a huge spider hanging above my head. It was the size of a basketball, a very dark color but not grey or black. Have you seen any really bad science fiction/horror movies featuring computer-animated spiders? That's what it looked like. A color that doesn't seem natural, movements that don't seem natural, and kind of blurry around the edges like it's badly superimposed over the background. I'd describe it in more detail, but a tenth of a second later I was squirming out from under it and diving out of bed. I picked up a piece of PVC pipe I keep near the bed to tap on the ceiling to let my family know I need help (I'm in poor health). I wasn't planning on tapping for help. I scanned the area looking for the spider, intending to beat it to death. It was naturally nowhere to be found. I tapped on the ceiling until my brother came down, and we moved the bed, checked under the chairs, and looked anywhere else a large (I didn't tell him just how big it was) spider could have been hiding. It was nowhere to be found.

For the record, I like spiders. I don't mind them in my living space. I don't usually kill them on sight. But once something crawls into bed with me, all bets are off.

The next few times I woke up, my brain entered some kind of tactical mode. I slowly opened my eyes and scanned the area before I moved. No spider. After a day or so of this (I was sleeping irregularly, waking every few hours), my brain left tactical mode and I woke up normally. Spider. I again dove out of the way, found a weapon, and went looking for it. I repeated this every few days for the next two weeks. The spiders were of different sizes (all big) and colors (all dark), but all shared that unreal, computer-generated quality. I swore off the Syfy Channel. I also promised myself I would not dive out of the way the next time, but instead stare the spider in the face until it moved or disappeared or hid or something, just so I'd know where it was going. That never worked. I always panicked and lost sight of it.

After two weeks or so, I woke up and looked up. No spider. Hurray! Then I glanced down at the foot of my bed. Standing at the foot of the bed kind of leaning over to look down at me was the dark outline of a woman, maybe 5 feet tall. I couldn't make out any details as she was backlit by the computer monitor. For some reason, I thought it was a cousin who had visited a few weeks before. I closed my eyes for a long second to clear my vision. When I opened them, the outline was gone. As for the monitor, it's set to turn off after a half hour. As I'd been asleep for at least a few hours, that means that someone or something had pressed a button or moved the mouse within the last half hour.

As luck would have it, I had a doctor's appointment the next day. I let him check me out, he said I was in good shape considering, and said we could resume chemo the next day, unless I had any symptoms he needed to know about. He's a friendly sort of guy who always has a smile on his face, but when I got to the part about the huge spiders, his face clouded up. I could tell he was thinking "the cancer has spread to his brain." He then started smiling again, told me there was nothing to worry about, but just because I hadn't had one in a while, he was sending me to the hospital for head MRI. The next day, I was at the hospital. If you haven't had a head MRI, it's exactly like sticking your head inside a jackhammer.

The head scan came back clear. My brain is normal. The doctor asked about the spiders, and I truthfully told him I hadn't seen one (large or small) since I'd reported it to him. I hadn't told him about the woman's outline. He said it was probably just one of those things, and that considering the chemicals and drugs I was routinely given, it would be surprising if I didn't see things from time to time.

I still see the black bugs or mice or whatever they are out of the corner of my eye, but very rarely. The last time was a few nights ago while I was up late reading ATS forums. Go figure.

Hi I have been seeing these shadow like spiders or insects a lot recently. Reading this thread it seems a lot of people seem to be experiencing them pretty much in the same fashion as me. I usually see them when waking out of a dead sleep. its like something wakes me up and i know exactly where to look.I have no idea what these things are and am hoping to find out more information about them. I don't however just see them in my peripheral vision. I wake up and stare right at them and watch them for a good 5- 10 seconds until they fade away. I follow them with my eyes and can see each legs as it moves across the wall or ceiling. usually moving away from me. I can usually tell when i will see them cause it becomes very difficult for me to sleep. it feels like something keeps getting closer and closer to me and the closer it gets the stronger the feeling. and when i finally do fall asleep i have strange dreams and wake up to see one of those things not far from me almost like it was messing with my dreams. I woke up one night and could have sworn i heard a voice speaking to me saying "its almost time" that was the first and only time so far I have ever heard a voice but as i woke up i saw one crawling very quickly from the main light in my room toward me and stop not far from my bed. it stood there for a few seconds then faded away like it was starring right at me. I have had other experiences with other things apart from these spider like creatures but lately these things have been popping up a lot. I recently moved to japan and the other things I have felt and seen haven't bothered me since coming here. before coming here I have only had 2 occasions in the US where I saw a spider like shadow apart from my other experiences outside the spider like creatures. but here i see them almost once or twice a week. there have been nights where i have woken up multiple times and seen them in different places in my room. I only see one at a time tho. One night after waking up from a very strange dream i saw one crawling up the wall right next to where i sleep and i tried smashing it but i hit nothing and when i moved my fist it was gone.

if there is anything more anyone can add to the subject it would be much appreciated thanks and sorry if this sounds crazy but I do not believe these things are a result of hallucinations. i don't see them just anytime and there seems to be conditions in which i do and I can feel something is wrong just before seeing one. and its not just with these spider like creatures too. the fact that people seem to be describing the same kind of visuals i find it difficult to believe a collective of individuals are seeing the same kind of hallucinations. I for one am not in anyway afraid of spiders nor have i had any bad spider experiences to trigger something like this.

No, never fear like that. Maybe you stay at home for a very long time and have nothing to do, maybe some loneliness that makes you think about something as insignificant as spiders. You think about spiders again and again and now its paranoia of spiders. Just learn something, take a walk out, go for a holiday outside of your house for some time and using some poison against the spiders may calm your mind.

I had a dream about this shadow blob like arachnid - and it just blew my mind. I was seeing it in my dreams like it was in real life, and it was by a lamp... but the lamp light was almost non existent, like the shadow dimmed the light itself and....

Well let me just give you all the run down on what transpired.

(In real life) My fiance was feeling tired, and hurt, and weak and was thinking strong thoughts of suicide. and so, i tried to talk her down from following that very dark road.

our house is always like a ice cube in the summer, and nice in the winter so it was odd: when she was freaking out and having these thoughts the temperature got stifling hot. granted, the outside was cooler than normal and she was so tired after the ordeal of talking to me (i successfully brought her back from that edge of darkness), she passed out and went to sleep. it was off and on four twenty four hours that she slept, which is very unusual for her (she usually doesn't sleep that long).

Her mind runs a marathon every day non-stop - she is intelligent and a force of nature, but when she woke up briefly, she put my hand on her right side temple; then just a split second later, my hand felt like it was just released from a death grip. my hand was so tight ; i also felt like shooting pains coming through my veins.

now this was weird to me.

so i spooned her to comfort her, and she said, "That's Weird." so I asked what was weird - and she said that she felt like I was taking her pain and transferring it to me...

Bear in mind: she is a professional healer, body care specialist, and has long been a "beacon" of sorts for many. and when i say "force of Nature", it is not an exaggeration - she has Strongly Identified with Faerie for more than 70% of her life.

so not thinking any thing of it (the pain removal) I went to sleep beside her... then I started having a dream...

(dream state) I was in a house (a building of some sort) and there was a couch in front of me; beside the couch was a end table and lamp. I was on a bench like cushioned seat facing the couch, and behind me was another cushioned seat (much like airport or bus station seating, only cushioned). my fiance was sitting directly behind me (on the station like seating), and I started hearing... "chitters and clicks" in what would be the 'back of my ears' (like insects scrabbling) so I turn around beside me - and there was nothing.

then my fiance got off the bus seating, and walked around me to seat on the couch in front of me. (I noticed on the couch our three cats were laying side by side next to each other). then I heard the chittering and clicking again in the back in my ears, so i grabbed my cell phone and used the flash light app to see if there was something there, and ....

nothing. sounds stopped.

I turned back around to see (what I thought was in the corner of my eye) a shadow figure with legs near the end table, UNDER the lamp (where there SHOULD NOT have been a shadow); the light from the lamp, at that point, started going NOTICEABLY dimmer and dimmer... and then I saw this shadow thing scuttle under the couch. lots of legs.

now honestly I am VERY afraid of spiders, but it didn't give me the knee jerk Fear reaction like a normal spider would have: i was more curious and inquisitive. that was really strange since i freak out if I see a tiny spider three feet away from me.

very strange indeed...

but the thing that got me wondering is? why did I see it and the cats and my fiance did not...

then my fiance went to sit back down behind me on the bus seating. i heard the sound again - and I saw it come out from under the couch and scuttle under me -

at that moment i realized it was following my fiance where ever she was going.

then i woke up.

By the way: i have had that dream three times in the past month - it has coincided with my fiance getting very strangely ill, and fighting the illness with her entire arsenal of Healing Tools. what should have hospitalized her - indeed, what should have killed her - has been kept at bay, but her energy and spirits have slowly been on the decline, culminating in last night.

which was why i was moved to look for answers, or like stories...

PS - as of this morning, the illness, after her sleep, the recurrence of this dream, and my finally recounting the dream to her (where she told me to find a forum and let my Narrative be known) has spontaneously begun to Heal.

Quickly.

very interesting thread. I have seen shadow people but never bugs. I hate bugs in real life, I dont want to deal with shadow bugs to lol. I think its interesting that people can look at these insects and stare compared to the shadow people who dont really seem to like to be looked at.

Hello All

I came across this forum when I was googling phrases like “shadow spiders” or “shadow bugs” following some freaky experiences I’ve had in the past week or two.

I felt compelled to set up an account to describe my own experiences.

I should begin by saying that although I am interested in the paranormal and “unexplained phenomena”, I am a rational person and have never seen or experienced anything out of the ordinary in my 33 years; that is, until the last week or so.

I should also say for reference that I live in the UK.

The first time was a week or so ago when I was getting changed for work. I was literally pulling my trousers up when I saw what I initially thought was a rat scuttling along the carpet at the bottom of my wardrobe. This was at a distance of maybe five feet and the main ceiling light was on. It was travelling very fast, but even in the brief time it took to disappear, my brain was already thinking “that can’t be a rat – it must be a mouse” then “that can’t be a mouse – it must be a spider”. It traversed the length of the wardrobe then disappeared into the wall. I was so certain I had seen something, I actually got down on my hands and knees to check if there was a hole or something in the skirting board. There was a *tiny* little gap, but it didn’t seem big enough for whatever I had seen to fit through. It looked like a dark, slightly elongated, slightly enlarged golf ball. But I did get the impression that it had been “scurrying”.

I chalked it up to maybe a piece of fluff that had got caught in a draft or something.

But then a couple of mornings ago I saw it again. This time, I had already had a shower and was fully clothed. I was coming down the stairs for breakfast when I saw the same damn thing. This time it was “scurrying” across the tiles in our hallway. This time, it took a right angled deviation in direction after a second or two and came towards me. I was on the second step from the bottom of the stairs, and it seemed to “disappear” into the carpet right in front of my feet.

As I say, I just wanted to share, because this is the only result I’ve found on the internet that’s anything like what I saw. I know other websites suggest “floaters”, but I think I’ve seen those things before. This thing was bigger than what I imagine a floater to be, plus it wasn’t in my peripheral vision – I saw it right before my eyes, I watched it move in fully lit areas. I’ve never experienced sleep paralysis or anything and have never been on any kind of medication. I smoked cannabis, dropped a couple of tabs of acid, took some Es when I was in my late teens / early twenties, but I haven’t touched any illegal drugs in ten years and have never had anything like a “flashback” before now. I have a fairly responsible job, mortgage, wife, kids etc. I don’t feel particularly stressed at present either, no sleep problems. Both times I saw the thing, it was in the morning, but I had been awake on both occasions for some time – maybe twenty minutes the first time, half an hour the second time.

The only explanations I can think of are:

1) Some sort of eye strain that an optician can help out with

2) Some sort of brain condition that a neurologist can help with

3) Shadow rat / bug thing that maybe a… priest can help out with?

Thanks for reading

I finally found others who see these?! I have been seeing them for about 9 years. I call them spider/crabs because it looks like a cross between the two. Round bodies, many legs moving fast but the spider itself moves slowly. It can be just one or up to 4 at once and they are always different sizes...big or small. They are always there just when I open my eyes in the morning. They always crawl away until fully disappearing. They are black but also slightly transparent. I have moments in life where they go away and then moments in which I see them every morning. I have felt like I must be schizophrenic or something but I also feel like it's paranormal. I feel like they just come to observe me...

I was sleeping in my bed and I kept hearing buzzing sounds coming from out side my door I saw what looked like a hazy cluster of bugs dart to the far side of my room where the door was. I thought it was just me seeing thing and I could have imagined it but i heard my sister scream next to my room. She said what looked like man being formed in the living room that looked half way like me other half blurry black. She said I had my face and super body but it looked twisted. And it melted into the carpet just before I turned on the light in the hallway. It's Tuesday May 1st today and I just saw the thing my self. Please if anyone has any idea what it is please let me know I can't be the only one to see this

I've very recently had a similar experience. I woke up, my room was dark - it was still night time. I sleepily looked up at the wall as something caught my eye - a huge crab-like spider that when I saw it, crawled up the wall to the corner near the ceiling. The spider was almost translucent - the edges were blurry but I could see it clearly, it was very thick and bulky. I rushed to put my light on and as soon as I did, it was gone.

I grabbed my laptop and typed 'energy spiders' into google, turns out I'm not the only one to see this and that's somewhat of a relief. When I finally went back to sleep (with my light on!) I woke up a few hours later to see the same wall COVERED in tiny black squirming 'baby spiders' - this time they were dark and looked intensely real, but they faded away very slowely once I sat up and stared at them.

Luckily I've not had anything happen since, but I'm constantly worried I will.

Sounds like eye floaters. I just got them (again) but they aren’t going away. Saw Dr. age related. Biggest in left eye. The size of a fly.

I’ve thought I’ve seen shadow people before and every time has been so SCARY. But shadows can easily be justs shadows. Never heard of shadow bugs until now and I hope I never see any. Maybe there’s a rational explanation? But I really don’t know. Interesting post.

In your peripheral vision is where the things happen too. Could be some forms of energy which aren't and can't be fully physical and therefore you get to see them with your peripheral instead direct vision. Since experiences differ, those energy forms don't have to be negative or with bad intention, but could be just passing by, then again your impression of them depends on how you feel about them and how you perceive them.
I also see 'things' or 'running things'. I remember once I was half asleep-half awake and in that moment noticed something huge like tarantula on my face. When I became fully aware it disappeared.

yes Spider shoadows are real, I never read this until i searched for them on the net, i have seen them . they come from the world of the Shadows. the shadow realm is mentioned in Carlos castenedas books.

I don't care if you beleive or not.

don't be afraid of them. they are just a differnet form of life in the universe. they cannot hurt you in this world. just don't go to their world.

God make inorganic beings first. humans came later. we are much more powerful than them. we can actually make them our petsw. love their life. it is all part of God, like animals are also in this world. you can get trapped in their world. don't ever go to their world.

I have seen a couple of shadow people but never bugs or spiders, that would creep me out too much. I saw a small short shadow person in of my old houses. yes, the houise had ghost activity. The last house I lived in I saw a shadow person staring at me from our kitchen. My 9 year old has seen a shadow person in our current house, I was hoping to escape the paranormal but apparently, I have not. Apparently, my daughter was jumping around listening to music, when she saw a dark shadow looking at her from the bathroom, it was peeking at her from around the corner. When it noticed her seeing it she said it vanished.
