I love Attention, Don't WE all? What Floats Your Boat and What Get's Your Goat?

I know this will get some attention.

It occurs to me when viewing the forums and topics that there are certain areas that get more attention then others. I, also, believe that everyone that does post wants attention including me. But, I really want to know what motivates you to read a post and respond. I mean, I have seen some post that have a ridiculous amount of responses with stars and flags out the wazoo and ask myself, why? Then I have seen posts that I thought deserved much more response with nothing.

So, I ask you " What Gets Your Goat, What Floats Your Boat"? Same question just reversed order.

I'm always keen on finding topics that I can drop a 1 liner like this.


But nah, I like to read topics with a great deal of subject matter and I do like challenging cynics sometimes.

Obviously it must have a good title. Something that grabs my attention.

Has to be a subject that intrests me.

If the op has a little personality it helps. Explain why you expect me to spend time reading or viewing the stuff you are presenting.

Pics / video always help. If I want to read a book I'll read a book.

Fun threads that are written by Beezzer or Chiten.I loved the ATS regent
election we had this past summer.
I am very outspoken on a few topics and I have been avoiding them.
I am wanting to start disappearing into the background and becoming a
wallflower.

Anything that makes me think twice I will at least have a look at and then decide whether to comment. As for the Stars and Flags, I may be wrong but I think there are a few members out there who enjoy starring and flagging each other whether their replies are good or bad.

I feel for you, had a rough ride myself with a few things... The world is a sick place sometimes.

I really have no preference for a certain topic or forum. If the title catches my eye enough to click and the opening post enough to inspire me to add my 2 pennies I'm in. However, if someone else has already posted exactly the same perspective, I'll simply star the post and move on. No need to reiterate what's already there.
