With elections in Iraq just a few months away, and the Bush team continually stating that they are training enough security forces in Iraq for the
elections to go ahead safely, A US General in charge of securing Baghdad and it's suburbs sais that they need at least another 8 months to train the
additional 10,000 police officers they need.

The U.S. general in charge of Baghdad said on Tuesday it would be at least another eight months before the Iraqi capital had enough police,
contradicting previous U.S. claims that numbers were sufficient.
Major General Pete Chiarelli, whose 1st Cavalry Division is responsible for security in Baghdad and its suburbs -- an area of about six million people
-- said there were currently about 15,000 people working for the capital's force.
"We're about 10,000 short of what we need," he told reporters. "But by next spring, or early next summer, we'll be right where we need to be."

Why are so many military leaders in Iraq coming out just 2 weeks before the election saying that they are having problems and seem to be making
statements that are in direct opposition to President Bush's statements?
