President Obama's economic booklet: Too little, too late?

Some people may have missed the release the other day of that booklet from the Obama Campaign.

It outlines "The Plan" for the next 4 years !!

Hmmm. Where HAS that "Plan" been hiding for the last 4 years ?

The president lays out his vision for a second term in pamphlet form — but critics say it's muted and not exactly groundbreaking

This week, the Obama administration began handing out a 20-page booklet outlining his vision for a second term. Titled "A plan for jobs and middle class security," the publication lays out Obama's proposals to boost economic growth, raise taxes on the wealthy, protect ObamaCare, and invest more in education. The booklet, 3.5 million of which will be mailed to voters and handed out at rallies, serves as a closing argument for the president as he spends the next two final weeks trying to sway undecided voters in crucial swing states.

However, Obama's aides admitted that the booklet contains no new proposals, a fact highlighted by Republican critics. So why bother at all? Team Obama is implementing a last-minute change in strategy in the face of a late surge by Mitt Romney, says Glenn Thrush at Politico:.............................................

"FIRST LOOK: Faced with persistent calls for more detail about what a second term would look like, President Obama this morning will hold up a glossy, 20-page repackaging of the plans he has announced on subjects from energy to education: 'The New Economic Patriotism: A PLAN FOR JOBS & MIDDLE-CLASS SECURITY.' Obama will unveil the booklet at a 10:10 a.m. event at Delray Tennis Center in Delray, Florida. As an artifact of the diminishment of President Barack Obama, it is hard to top his newly released pamphlet, “A Plan for Jobs & Middle-Class Security.”

The plan purports, first, to be a plan, and second, to outline a second-term agenda distinct from his first-term agenda. It fails on both counts. It cobbles together his current policies with some ill-defined new bullet points to barely cover 20 pages largely devoted to nice pictures of the president.

Make no mistake: What the Obama agenda lacks in substance, it makes up in graphic design. The pamphlet has as much gloss and as many soft-focus photos as a copy of Playboy. The seriously besotted Obama fan might have to assure friends, “No, really — I only read the Obama second-term plan for the policy details.”

It's nice to have all of Obama's talking points condensed in one nice little package... What about his actions?? Tough to put those contradictions in a nice little book.

Hell, it's not even a tri-fold, much less a book.

If the POTUS can boil down his plan into a simple pamphlet, it's obvious that he doesn't think to much of his constituents.

He didn't hide it the party of no tucked it away. Funny how you complain about Obama but never complain about how the GOP constantly blocks bills that will help Americans as a whole instead of the small group of people that have bought them off.

I looked at it...........After 4 years this is all he could come up with???? Very unimpressive, no detail at all.

If you want some fun, ask an Obama supporter what is the President's plan on getting America Back to work. The answers I have gotten have been hilarious.

Some real deep details would help that argument.

Details like defeated bills etc.

Don't forget to include any "added extras" that would have come along for the ride.

Maybe there are good reasons for some of the "blocks".

Make sure you give details about how those bills would have helped the majority of Americans, not just a few targeted special interest groups.

Actually it's been on the Romney website for quite a while now.

Don't know if they've changed anything in the pdf, but here it is......

What seems to be "wrong" with any part of it ?

It is a lot longer and detailed than Obama's "Booklet"

It takes some time to read the thing.
