You do know that Ledbetter had nothing to do with equal pay for women? It was just a payoff to trial lawyers wanting another reason to sue.

War on Women? Ask Hillary Clinton, and the 3 million women that went into poverty under Obama about the war on women.

We have our record to be proud of and we don't have to listen to what the world wants.

Just because they beat us in things like education, heath care, mother and infant mortality rate and about a hundred other measurements for civility and success we have the biggest Army.
The rest doesn't matter as long as we think we're free.

Star for you.

I'm sorry, but being raised in a "Red State" where my vote doesn't matter hits this point close to home.

I can't count the number of times I have wanted to bang my head against the wall at the comments and discussions I have overheard.

I love your commentary, you seem to be saying what needs to be said -- when it needs to.

Your avatar obviously helps

Ledbetter never got equal pay and she was denied it though she did the same job as her male counterparts for years. She was not able to sue and get it because the law stated she needed to file earlier but earlier she did not know she was being paid a lower rate as people seldom show others their paycheck and so that avenue for satisfaction was closed.

Obama made sure that doesn't happen to another woman who might be your wife, your mother, my daughter....The attorneys fighting her case will be able to retroactively pay women who do the same job as a man the same rate. Up until this law companies did not HAVE to pay women equally and women could not even fight to prove she deserved equal pay in a court of law.

3 Million women went into poverty under Obama? You think this all happened in the past few years? You really think the GOP even wants women to have jobs? They want them barefoot and pregnant, by any means possible and even a pregnancy as a result of rape is an act of God. Come on...who are we kidding here?

Is there something about the illusion of choice I missed here? Both Romney and Obama will do what their handler (notice, not plural, they have the same handler) tells them. Policy change does not come with a change in parties. It's an illusion or an outright lie. Obama kept wars going, got involved in a few new ones, made the patriot act worse, instituted the NDAA, allowed businesses to send most of their jobs offshore causing huge unemployment problems, blew over trillion dollars in deficit spending and still hasn't reigned in the FED.

Romney will do no better, they both have to go. I just don't know how that is going to happen. They will probably deny "write-ins" in the election and fraudulently pick the candidate of their choice, not the voters choice. Seems like a spot between a rock and a hard place to me.

Cheers - Dave

Funny, those numbers. A bit useless too.

We do not get to vote in The States, and as far as foreign policy goes towards Europe, there has been nó discernable difference between Republicans, or Democrats.

What Í, as a Dutchman, think of Obama and/or Romney is rather unimportant. We do things óur way, Americans do things théir way. It's not for us to meddle in the democratic choices of another western country, howèver limited they may be..

As I stated earlier, Europe and The USA have a totally different culture and mentality, despite the superficial likeness of our respective cultures, so any polls by "the other side of the pond" mean véry little. A curiosity, another tick on the list of "things funny to know".

Isn't anyone else tired of being so divided, arguing over nominal partisan differences that are unsubstantial at best? How is it that we never grow weary in our disunity and isolation? 'Bridge the gap' mean anything to anyone anymore? Citizen vs citizen ... friend vs friend ... when neither party are true enemies by any stretch of the imagination. We're so far off the mark ... so ridiculously far off the mark. This is why change isn't possible in this country. WE are accountable to the next generation, not some passe governmental entity. We are turning into the sell outs that preceded us. Our ONLY hope is cooperative indivisibility but as a people we are dissected by narcissism, dwarfed in a sea of apathy. We don't have the solidarity or courage or wisdom to band together on stupid Facebook let alone forge an alliance in the ashes of a rising corporate empire. Don't know about y'all but I'm tired of fighting my comrades ... time for this generation to find some inspiration and rise or retreat as the lone wolves that we are and let this thing die.

Dear OP. It doesn't matter what the world thinks is best for OUR country.

If the RNC had not cheated and changed the rules RP would of OWNED Obama on every debate possible.
I don't even think it would of been a debate.

NDAA, Fast and Furious guns, the fact he usurped presidency since he's not American.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

This is a joke thread.

Before you rant about someone who cheated get your head out of the sand.

Ill glady wait for your reply about how amazing a socialist president that lied about removing troops from Iran entering presidency, turning the economy around in 1 term or he won't run again. Also paying congress and pharma to get votes for Unconstitutional Obamacare.

Yeah ill wait for that reply.

Not like I'll respond since there is no debating his actions that define who he is.

You can take that to the bank.

The BBC is not the world and the world does not vote in the US elections.

These international (and US national polls) mean ZERO come election day!

No offense but their isn't much Obama has done that is quote unquote 'socialist', but hey if you'd like to follow the popular dim-witted culture of the republican party I can't stop you. Before you go talking about medicare, remember that Romney started it in MA.

The only thing dim witted is your generalization of people being less intelligent based of political party preferences.Clearly you at caught up in the Obama hype I suggest you look into NDAA and Fast and furious and maybe you could all tell us why he won a nobel peace prize? He is almost a dictator! hell he is a dictator and I will give you an example once Obama became president they have labeled right wing conservatives groups "extremist" and they are watched by the FBI,homeland security and local agencies for terrorist activity. He basically is calling his political opposition terrorist that is something a dictator does now add in NDAA where he can detain American citizens without trial for as long as he wants for terrorist activity. Hell he passed a bill making it illegal to protest at a political rally = dictator

please this is one case out of millions of jobs where women get paid the same amount the men do.

I didn't exactly understand your reply to me, wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or serious at first but I'm guessing it was sarcasm, since in my eyes those are all good things. I did although want to post to the reply you gave about ledbetter, it was very well written and I enjoyed it. I can't agree more, I still can't believe that equality is even an issue in the 21st century, I wish I was a kid again ignorance is bliss.

LOL Fast and the Furius, how about you look into the Abu Ghraib Prison which will trump anything and everything that Obama might have had his hand in. You conservatives are all alike so I'm just making a profile here on you: Let me guess your not a millionaire, probably middle class, male around the age of 23, and your voting for a Republican? Now you might not see anything wrong with that, but anyone and I mean anyone with any significant degree of intelligence would. End of Story.

So Abu Ghraib prison wasn't against tons and tons of laws and I'll just stick with this one for now. But if we're playing the unconstitutional game or the geneva convention game Obama loses to Bush so careful where you tread. Especially if that's all the ammo you have because GOD knows no republican has anything regarding backing Romneys 'said' policies.

I think the problem is that most of the rest of the world are quite ignorant to American politics. I am saying that from an outsiders prospective. Most people I know have no idea who Mitt Romney is.

I am not trying to bash Obama, purely from my own observations I think the rest of the world see him as a kind of Mandela figure. (1st Black American president etc)

He does put on quite a show and talks the talk

Yeah must have nothing to do with having a Republican controlled Senate for 3.5 years of his presidency. Nope that must've not had a thing to do with it... right?

if you can't see the difference dave, your not looking very hard. this isn't rocket science, the wealthy win if romney wins, if obama wins, the rest of us get a reprive from being further screwed over

Jimmy the problem is that takes logic, and clearly uncle bob is a Ron Paul supporter and he's gonna fart pixy dust and everything is going to be grand! Didn't you know? That guy can work miracles that no one else can... yet he's in the same system! Something fishy is going here, Ron Paul has brainwashed the said people who think everyone else is already brainwashed.
