This should probably go in the rant section,so now I'm stupid!

So on to the story,

Got a call from a family member about a problem with the cable and sound.
Picture works, but no sound.
They had 2 different techs out and could not resolve the problem.

I go over to check things out.
The first thing I do is remove the hdmi cable from the tv and try a different input.
It won't go in.
Hmm.
Tried another input, still won't go in.
Hmm.
I look at the end of the connector and, lord and behold, there is a small piece broken off in there.
Broken off the connector on the tv.
New hdmi cable, fixed in 15 minutes.
These dudes spent 2 days on it!

Lack of skill, lack of knowledge,I don't know, but the list continues to grow.

BTW,just moved it to the rant forum 'cause I'm fed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just today,I had to teach some guys on how the card reader system works that they installed!

ARRGGGGG!!

Try being the boss of the two morons that couldn't fix it, listening to irate customers rightfully complain about the morons that you sent to fix the problem. And the morons only came in to work for two days that week, when you have a backlog of work. Oh, and if one of those days weren't payday, they wouldn't have shown up then.

Sorry for stealing your rant.

Sounds like my grandma and step mom...they're always calling on me to figure out the trivial stuff.

What about people in general?

For example, the slow driver that won't speed up or go at the green light?

Yeah, or how about the moron working at Home Depot?

You ask him where something is and he tells you he will go look for someone with the answer. No derp, YOU are supposed to know where it is. Try focusing on what you are getting paid to do instead of fist bumpin' with your buds, texting more moronic friends, and generally wandering away from where any labor might be happening.

Oh,this one is priceless,
Mother-in law, well we got her a dvd player one year and she asks, and I quote " well, how do you rewind this thing?"
I can not find a facepalm that would do it justice.

Four lanes on an interstate highway, and all the drivers are doing the same speed and none will get over to let me,a daredevil disregarding the speed limit, pass.

Oh god I have one.

So for the last few days, my stepdad was trying to get his old android phone working so i could have it. He went through like 15 people the first day, just so he could reactivate his phone and they kept transferring him because the people didn't know. So when he finally got a person to help him, they said they'd fix it in a day. Day comes, no service. Another day passes, still no service. He calls and gets the runaround again.

Luckily they did get the phone in service and now I have free minutes on my phone.

That was quite hilarious to listen to.

A continuation from the op.

After three days,my poor father-in law,I meet up with one of the cable guys.
They admitted to possibly screwing up his Bose system.
Not only was it the hdmi but the optical audio cables.
Talk about a bull in a china shop.

So when did you start to notice this happening? I started to notice this 40 plus years ago, don't let it get to you.

The worst part is these people are charging for their service. They always seem to look for the most complex thing first and start replacing expensive parts. People can't look at the overall picture anymore, they start looking at little pieces seperately from the start. Cables often go bad on this kind of stuff, it used to be that the cable going to the harddrive on the computer would get an open in it and the service man would replace the hard drive and install a new cable with it.

I wish I could explain it better, but I will try.

My job.
Weekend call,elevator won't run.
3 am in the morning.

I get there,I go to the floor to where the elevator is.
There is a Styrofoam cup in the door.
I remove the cup,and the elevator works fine.
End of call, write my ticket up,3 hours of overtime.
For me,stupidity pays well.
