Just a few more weeks until I don’t have to hear how I am a racist at work anymore. Trying to stay

Screw em and stick to your guns. If pressed by any of these workers feel free to use the "H" word. Employers hate that word. Employees fear it.

He irritated me when he said I needed to do some research and accused me of destroying this country; all because I said that I wasn’t voting for Obama. That hit a nerve at the time. I still do have a couple of buttons that people can push, he had found one.

I knew in the back of my mind where this was going, but couldn’t get off the train. After one sentence, he basically called me stupid and a racist. That gets my ire up.

As Obama said, "Sometimes, you have to get in their face."

Don't expect to be able to cut through the years and years of brainwashing most folks have allowed themselves to be controlled by. A couple PhD friends of mine were telling me how excited they were to be working for the Obama campaign and that maybe they would get to attend a Bruce Springsteen fundraiser concert.

The other side is just as bad.
Freethinking got tossed out with 80's and now it seems everyone looks to their television for all their information.
Stand your ground, who knows maybe you'll get through to someone and then they might actually begin to question the status quo. It's a scary thing letting go of those years of programming. People need to know the world won't collapse if look for answers elsewhere.

OK, I have to confess ignorance on this one.

"H" word? What is that? Hate or Human Resources? Or something else entirely?

Im a partial owner and sometimes moderate a board that is attached to a business.. its a private board for professionals and hobbyists.. entomologists, etc. Somehow the political insanity has hit even the geeky bug crowd.
TDawg... they're saying they wont purchase from so'n'so basically due to their political leanings .. or lack of. Theyre fighting like idiots. Today.. Im sick as a dog and get a phone call to put out a fire. SO I log on in between trying not to die.. and these fools are fighting, one accusing the other of giving him bad advise that killed one of his inverts because he is a republican/democrat.. I dont even recall what he was other than an idiot.
Im talking full blown "gunna track ya down and shank ya" sort of conversation.. in an open thread.

Folks have gone MAD.. I mean out of their minds full on idiot. There's NO way to deal with them other than seeing for what it is.. and holding them at arms length. REFUSE to discuss politics with dummies is usually a safe move... but this election ( and Ive been around for more elections than I want to admit) is by far the most contentious and divisional than I have ever experienced. Folks are acting crazy and dont get it that their own behavior is one of the largest problems in our culture today. Dont bother telling them though as its a waste of effort.

Dont quit your job.. dont let them get to you... and dont play into that BS. The charge of being a racist is hurtful and something most folks automatically are defensive over. Its also EXACTLY why they use it.. ad nauseum. I find myself hoping that a spaceship floats down, beams BOTH of the candidates up, and then we wont have to deal with either of them or their PSYCHOphants.

Harassment.

And depending on your company, politics might be on the same level as any other topic that falls into the hostile work environment category.

Well, hell...that was a no-brainer. I'm a idiot. And to think that I used to work Human Resources.

But I have always thought of harrassment towards females in the workplace as I have never seen a guy place such a complaint. I should thought of the hostile enviroment as well since I have been accused of it.

Been retired a year and a half now and really don't think about that work anymore. Just goes to show, "If you don't use it, you lose it."

The snarky side of me was thinking maybe "Hugs".

Yet they choose to ignore that as individuals they could help other people but choose not to.

They much prefer the state and other people to foot the bill of their left wing dreams. But not themselves.

This is an unfair and stereotyped generalization, aside from it being inflammatory.

I vote for Democrat principles (which means WHICHEVER candidate cares about changing the status quo away from free-market disenfranchisement), but I also paid for, and put into practice, an education in Social Work that included policy, research, system change at the MICRO, MIDDLE and MACRO level, and went on to fight daily for the underdog. For very little pay.

VERY LITTLE PAY.

So, whatever. You are misinformed and judging people you don't understand.

You have no imagination. Just pretend you are an Obama supporter. When you have sucked him in say something like, "and after the election Obama's going to legalize post-birth abortions. " have fun with them and mess with their minds.
