Yeah, I don't know what the issue would be honestly, it makes no sense to me.

Funny enough the chat feature doesn't work for me

I use Firefox.

Ill come in... if we can sometimes talk about girl stuff.....NO not rainbows and unicorns, but ahh you know, I want to participate but I dont know about engines and Star Wars

I use Firefox. Chat comes right up for me.

ETA: I can tell you Firefox and Adobe have had some issues with Flash lately, but the newest beta of flash seems to have fixed the problem for me.

I found it amazing that the thread got zero flags and the OP got two stars and yet it has continued into a third page.

I will flag and star this thread. How about you?

and yea.. happens ALL the time.. I've actually gotten in like twice in 3 years.. so why bother..

Aaaaaaand its Java-based. Aaaand its gone. At least for me. And maybe for the majority of Apple-users, as Apple just deleted the Java-plugin for Safari, AFAIK.

I have only seen a "Chat Voyeur" option, and while I don't normally come to ATS for sexy time, I have tried clicking on it.

It has never worked for me, I get an error page as the others described. I use firefox, and ad-blocker addons. Sometimes my ad-blockers cause trouble with stuff, and I have to judge if I care enough to try disabling the addons and expose myself to unpleasant marketing intelligence-insulting manipulation.

As a result, I don't think I have ever been persuaded to turn off those addons.

And I know, I know. Websites support themselves with ad revenue blah blah. If we are going to talk about that, I will have to fetch my miniature violin first.

ATS chat has a flaw - it wont accept user names with none std characters - so i cannot use it - kill the hostages - TPTB will appreciate your depolulation efforts

been there,done that! i can't type fast enough to keep up,and to be honest,it seems like a 'members only' club,and if your not in the club,no one 'chats' with you!
its like a forum for lonely house wives that just want to gossip!

i immediatly tried to use chat, was rejected... need 150 posts.

I can not connect either.

I assume the chatroom uses Java Webstart, or some heavily Java-Applet dependant coding, connection attempts are intercepted by our corporate firewall.

I'll try again from my home base. Never did try the ATS chat.

What happened to good ol' IRC btw ?

I used it for the first time the other day....it was full of idiots!
