It is my understanding that we only have "advisers" left in Iraq, not military assets. I could be wrong, but Romney did say what he claimed he did not.

Wow... Obama talking about nation building as a bad thing, while his administration supports nation chaos?

Arab Spring US supported, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria the list has a queue..

How is this approach different than before, other than boots on the ground?

It's worse in my opinion... how is a completely destabilized middle east, a win for the US? [Those who weigh their opinions on $$$ signs need not respond]...

Mittens is a 'smoothe talker' and 'Bama is as staccato as ever!!! Neither one of them has impressed me with the substance of their answers thus far, but Mittons just sounds better. This will fool a lot of people into thinking he is really saying something worthwhile, unfortunately.

Does Mittens have a new 'do?

Yeo, new do. He's got the little 50s front forehead scoop into a flat top thingie going on....dooowaaa waaaa waaaa...

Ok, Obama is getting flustered....but Romney just lied about Iraq!

maybe he was referring to these.....

September 27, 2012 article

A unit of U.S. Army Special Operations soldiers was recently deployed to Iraq and more U.S. soldiers may soon be on their way, according to a New York Times report on the impact the civil war in neighboring Syria is having on Iraq's "fragile society and fledgling democracy."

Buried in the 15th paragraph of the report in Tuesday's Times was the news that "Iraq and the United States are negotiating an agreement that could result in the return of small units of American soldiers to Iraq on training missions" and that a unit of Army Special Operations soldiers has already been deployed to Iraq to advise on counterterrorism and help with intelligence.....

I'll have to read up. If this is true, I have issue with it.

Thanks!

Romney is coming across very well and I am glad. He is the best candidate in a long long while on either side in my opinion.
Keep it up Mitt

I have decided not to watch round 3 of the elections. Instead I will piece together the major issues of contention via the wild interpretations of my fellow members in this thread.

I'm a citizen of a USA-vasal state (Netherlands), but you guys do have smart president. And of course he's is talking about Romney's opinions. Some call this blaming.

It looks like another "he said, she said " debate. How can anyone believe EITHER one of these clowns? They'll both say whatever they want, and there is no way to really check, because they've probably both taken both sides of every issue at some time or other. My decision certainly hasn't changed- neither one of these guys deserve to be POTUS. Unfortunately, one will, and therein lies the rub.I know this comment is not very Professorial, but I have to say it: WE'RE SCREWED.

To be totally honest here..

so far... I haven't heard an honest word spoken by either candidate..

What are they protecting?

Guess they are hoping for most folks to be tuned into the Monday Night Football game..

BO - "the Eighties called, they want your foreign policy back."

what Romney's response should have been - - - -

"You mean the Eighties... when America was growing by leaps and bounds, after another Democrat-induced Recession, and financial crisis?

When America was respected AND FEARED because we had a strong leader, utterly devoted to ending the slavery of Socialism??

THAT EIGHTIES, MR. PRESIDENT ?!?!?

Unbelievable... so far Romney's comments and plans on the Syrian conflict seem to make more sense to me... Obama seems to be prattling in my eyes over it...
