12/21/12 is a Friday.

As my title suggests I am quite bored of hearing about 2012 BS.

So 12/22/12 is a Saturday. If you feel the same as I; what would your punishment be for all the fear-mongering? (All weekend long).

I would make them all take a time out and stare at a corner of the room all day Saturday & Sunday - then go straight back to work/school/whatever on Monday!

I punish them to nothing. I should punish you for finding this 2012 stuff and reading it over and over again, and then asking others why you keep seeing it.

Mcdonalds should stop making big double burgers. I should punish them because I keep eating them and then feeling slightly bleh afterwards.

so yea.. Nothing. People will learn to stop following these things, but the need to know the future and the need to escape this messed up system will never go away. There are those who will supply the demand too.

I will do as I've always done—ignore them. I will silently laugh to myself and imagine all these people realizing their own credulity; but then I will feel sorrow knowing that they will never learn from it.

Honey BooBoo marathon? Make them listen to a reading of Snooki's autobiography by Ben Stein?

How about a romantic getaway with Bill O'Reilly and a couple defrocked priests?

No punishment. People want to make sense of this crazy world and their will allways be those who will attempt to fill the need of those people. I see little damage to society as a whole by this type of fear porn.

Now if you start a thread on punishment for all the partisins who will go to the voting booth this november expecting new and improved results based on hope that their side of the two headed washington war party prevails, I might be able to come up with some ingenius punishments, for those enablers.

How about the fear that they generate within themselves about said date. Isn't that enough?

Why must you think of "punishment" for such a thing? This strikes me as old world philosophy. Punishing a person for their actions without taking the enlightened response to educate them on their actions. I guess some folks don't have the required awareness...

Trust me, its not just another "friday" with your gregorian calendar hooplah. Do some research, it might assist with your.. you got it, awareness!

LOL Thought the same thing, except to the OP, wouldn't we have to wait until Tuesday, after the 3 days of darkness, to punish them?

I say make them re-read every single 12/21/12 thread and write an apology for each one.

Not sure what punishment would be fitting...but it would certainly involve dog turd somewhere.

No punishment, we need them.

They create 'filler' that makes for entertaining reading when the other 'promises of big change' posts in the political forums are lacking.

But then we have to ask, how do you know it's all BS?

I mean REALLY know?

I won't say if I'm a believer or not but I will have to say that there is absolutely no way for me to know 100% of anything in the future. I'm not there and I can't see into it.

I can also say that when these prophecies/calendars etc were created I wasn't there either.

So without having first hand experience in either the future or the past, how can anyone know for certain?

Peace

I'm just trying to figure out where the OP of this thread has been hearing about 2012 enough to be bored of it.

I don't watch television so I don't know how pervasive the subject is on TV, but I suspect there is little to nothing other than maybe the incredibly poorly named History Channel.

Since I don't see the subject in other mainstream media I have to assume the OP is bored of the subject from reading about it on conspiracy websites like this. All I can say to that is: stop clicking on 2012 topics. The big date is two months away so of course you'll be reading about it more here.

I still don't know where you're seeing so much of it as to be bored by it.

Seems like a lot of people are afraid.. I myself have been a believer since I first heard in 2004.

At the time I was like live life and more relaxed..

As the day approaches it seems more things are happening.
After all you are on ATS for a reason right?
If you didn't have a worry you could watch the news and read yahoo news online.
Right?
Since the media is so honest .........

Its obvious people are scared.
Its obvious you are scared.
Its obvious they are scared.

Its obvious something is going on.

Y2K was one thing.

This is so much more.

But if it's all a hoax. Then I promise ill have my revenge LMFAO.

But in the end I laugh out of fear..

Political fear.
Economic fear.
Global fear.
Disaster fear.
Catastrophic fear.

I just hope in the end someone tells me I'm wrong.
Not being egotistical but usually I'm right.
Only because I talk about the things I study..
I study a lot.
If I don't know about it I listen...
Because you can learn a lot from everyone and everything.

With this mindset though. I hope quantum mechanics is wrong.
That not every possible outcome of every event defines or exists in its own "history" or "world"
Because then we might have created our own reality.

But then again it could be an ordinary day.

Nothing wrong with being scared.

you said it best. Most people are scared of something. The thug in a street gang is scared or else he wouldn't feel the need to use a gun. Knowledge is important and how to react in front of uncertainty. Yes, the fearmongers cash out on products making people watching their shows(Alex Jones) but at the same time, they are a product of this era and a lot of people including myself need to believe in something. They're so much information and it's hard to keep up with everything so who's right? I'm myself guilty of coming to this site 10 a day, it's becoming an addiction. Anyways, we're all in this together. We are the establishment. The system is US! (ok that last part was a bit moralistic I admit it was half-serious)

I don't know if the 2012 Doomsday crowd should in fact be punished if they are wrong, but I have a horribly mundane punishment for just about any occasion:

The offending party must shell bushel after bushel of purple hull peas all weekend, and bare the offending hand stains of shame all week as a warning to others!
