It seems that Queensland Australia is about to recommence Uranium mining after a 30 absence. Our greedy corporations and government want to dig up more of our land and ship the yellowcake overseas for profit. The scarey thing is that the readers of the news articles seem to be in support of this with the promise of job creation and wealth for all. What do you think?Courier Mail

As long as you don't build any of them enrichment facilities you should be fine.

But isn't it a health risk and damaging to the environment, like most mining activities? And then there was talk a couple of years back about the country who supplies the uranium must take back the radioactive waste. Last I heard, this was indeed happening in reclaimed indigenous land in central Australia.

Maybe if this threat of polluted water and air, and radioactive waste was in the backyard of Premier Newman it would be an entirely different story.
