The Pentagon’s venture capital arm has dished out $1.2 million to technology developer Softwear Automation to build an unmanned sewing machine, documents reveal.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency-supported experiment seeks to help the garment manufacturing industry reduce its reliance on assembly-line workers.

Well, the Pentagon has gone to war again. But this time, it isn't against al Qaeda, or the Taliban. No, this time it's against American workers. Here is what the synopsis of the contract:

Softwear Automation will develop a complete work-cell called a Beta Unit. That includes a numerically controlled sewing machine that tracks fabric movement by observing passing threads and under servo control moves the fabric under the needle stitch by stitch. Complete production facilities that produce garments with zero direct labor is the ultimate goal.

Now it is quite rightly said that the government does not directly create jobs. All it can do is make the economic climate better for the private sector to create jobs. However, as shown above, it can directly have a negative affect on private job creation by promoting automated methods of production that replace humans.

Obama claims to care about the hard workers of the Middle-Class. He claims to care that the poor can't find jobs. He claims to care about small business that can't compete with multinational corporations. All the while, and under his watch, his people are killing the American Dream. And he fiddles while America burns.

When Social Security stop mailing out paper checks a lot of middle class workers lost their jobs.

So yeah his people are killing the American dream in favor of that European utopia.

Military uniforms haven't been made in America for a very very long time.

They've been using laborers off US soil to make them. The ball caps many military units use are all made in China.

The military wouldn't have a uniform costs problem if they'd stop changing the dang design every year.

Every new General taking over a military branch just HAS TO make his mark and redesign the military uniform of his troops. Waste waste waste waste.
