I have the right to disagree with the sexual preferences of many who are seemingly straight..or not homophobic.

Homophobia is a disease in our countries because of ignorant people who grew up with ignorant parents, almost always highly religious too. It is a societal phenomenon widely seen in Christian and Islamic nations, and yet doesn't exist at all in many remote social groups where the disease of Christianity never reached.

Oh I see, so what is the disease called when I don't want my heterosexual kids practicing the sexual preferences of "wife swapping". What if I never cracked a bible in my life, but my gut still tells me it is wrong..do I still have the right to disagree with the sexual preference..without being called some sort of "group sex phobic" by those that enjoy it ?

I don't know why I bother sometimes, I really don't. It's like debating with a psychiatric patient slamming themselves against a padded wall over and over again. They do not listen to facts or reason, they just pay attention to the BS voices in their heads.

I don't think it matters what you tell children, regarding gay people.

Let's be clear. You cannot hear or learn that being gay is normal, and subsequently "turn gay". No one chooses to be gay and no one he is heterosexual will change their sexual preference on the basis of polls or current consensus.

A man needs and erection to have intercourse. If you're not attracted to men, you cannot have gay sex no matter how hard you try. It doesn't work that way. So I don't think it matters. You can tell children that gay is awesome and it won't matter. The kids will still be attracted to the opposite sex if they were born that way. One cannot learn to be gay.

I'm not sure if you consider Christianity as a "mystery religion", but I do know that they absolutely do not practice sodomy as a ritual in what I have been taught. There maybe some within the organization who secretly practice this ritual, but they know that they are not following the teachings of the bible, if they do so.

Isn't almost everyone when it comes to the more common forms of bullying from government, etc.? I think, a significant link has been shown to exist between homosexuality and being the 2nd or 3rd born son, i.e. first born sons are far less likely to be homosexuals..

As mentioned above, children going through puberty are learning about themselves and developing, education should not be indoctrinating them to think homosexuality is normal.

Lets stop and suppose for a second your child is gay. Yeah yeah, i know, your kid would never "catch the gay" but lets pretend.

wouldn't you want your child to be educated as such as to not feel like an outcast? Don't you think teaching tolerance is good?

I agree, trying to pretend that homosexuality is the norm is insane, and has nothing to do with this program at all, because it's clearly insane to try to preach that.

It exists, and has since the dawn of time. But lets not kid ourselves..

Gay people come from straight parents. It's not a mental disorder, it's not a sickness. It is what it is, and teaching tolerance ensures that, at the very least, a few generations from now it won't matter.

Very good point...which illustrates the point, that we should all have the choice as to what sort of sexual behaviors we think are appropriate and healthy. ...and the state does not have the right to force feed their opinions on the matter in the educational systems.
