I have watched people in power intentionally play incompetent if it would further their goals.

Only people who are stuck in their personal pride over their objective care if those "not in the know" think they are incompetent. And if you are that sort, you won't get to certain levels of power because the pride will get in the way.

More often though I've watched a person in power make someone below them do something seemingly incompetent without that person knowing why and having to do it because "it's their job" (a patsy more or less).

Truth is you never really can know who is actually dumb, versus who is playing dumb because it gives them some advantage you aren't aware of from the outside.

It's actually to the advantage of all defense departments to appear *just* competent enough to keep their citizen population content, while also appearing *just* incompetent enough to lure the enemy into making a mistake or underestimating the true capability. And since all defense departments know each defense department is masking their true competence... you get meta-games going on totally invisible to the public.

Most people are doing well to balance their own budget, much less keep multi-dimensional motives straight, especially from the outside where you only have hints and shadows of what's going on under the surface.

You can't equal the lack of omnipotence to incompetence. People in power can both be very competent at governing and be very incompetent at pulling off one of the most impossible conspiracy scenarios made up. In fact, nobody would be able to pull it off.

Really? Nobody can pull it off?

Why is it easier for you to believe that 19 terrorists would hijack 4 airplanes armed with box cutters and destroy three skyscrapers before flying one of the jet INTO THE PENTAGON, but it would be impossible for anybody from the US Government to pull it off?

I just don't understand what is wrong with people any more.

I am talking about these inside job conspiracy theories you read about on these forums. Of course a terrorist attack could also have been done by the people in power. It would mean though that they died during the attack, just like the Arab hijackers.

Either you are intentionally trying to be misleading, or you will benefit from continued exploration of creative thinking and creative strategy.

Some people love to deceive others. A conman would sometimes prefer to trick you to gain your money and belongings than to steal it outright. Notice that there are few laws governing conning someone out of their belongings but there are plenty to have you thrown in jail if you outright steal something. It is a game of the deceivers who view us as a paycheck. Our desire to get ahead often gives them the fuel to take everything we have. If you accept their deceitful tactics, then you have no rights to challenge them. You become a part of the deceit yourself. Using Ad Hominem as their justification they stay in control. We give them the power because of our thousands of years of conditioning......Let the person without sin cast the first stone........We are programmed to let the biggest crooks get away with it. Was this phrase put in the bible by the deceitful to control us? Maybe the deceitful just turned it around on us.

No, they are not incompetent. The deceivers control the nations politics, we all know that their campaign promises are rarely kept. Why do we elect these kind of people, crooked or crookeder. Any good politicians are forced to make deals to get anything for their districts, selling their souls to the deceivers. Sex scandals are just one of the tools of the deceitful, deceivers set other congressmen up so they can control them. Unless we clean house there will always be deceitful practices. That is the way it is and that is going to be the way it remains for a while. We can't change anything even though we think we can. There are only about twenty bad congressmen but the policy that has been adopted years ago has created this mess. Business as usually.

Don't worry about things that you cannot change. Worry about things you can. Congressmen are conditioned to get things for their people, they do what they have to to accomplish that. Problem is that the porkbarrel policy is bankrupting the country, something has to give before we have no country.

Your proposition implies that citizens have any power in the current system, I will grant you that Americans are the best positioned to rebel against the system (gun laws and constitution) but at the same time they are one of the most divided national populations and this hinders coordination and decreases any chance of success...

All successful revolutions required a large base of support and sharing of goals, the systems that control our nations todays have been designed to suppress and diffuse any real challenge internal and external to their continuation and those systems can be even seen as many propose to exist under an even greater power that forces them to comply to extra national goals, this is economical interdependence or even governmental domination by economic groups.

How many times does it have to be said? PNAC was not predicting, nor advocating an attack on US interests...anywhere. Their document was talking about the changes in the world with the end of the Cold War, the turn of the century, and how the United States military was still designed for a all-out war against an enemy like the Soviet Union, a war we would likely never face. The line about Pearl Harbor, was in reference to the fact that expenditures to remake the military would never be spent, unless it was in response to an attack. And even in THAT, PNAC was showing it's arrogance because here it is 2012, and Russia is rearming, China is modernizing/improving their military...and we are cutting ours.

if they are incompetent why are they running everything?

Haha, maybe some of the debunkers know the answer.

Because the only thing I can come up with is that they are not incompetent.

Because they can send men with guns to your house if you do not play along. It really is that simple.

The bad guys (& girls) running our country are not incompetent or pretending. They are hard-core criminals.

We are powerless to take back our country unless we are willing to lay it on the line. For many of us, that would mean tangling with a buzzsaw and death.

Can you brake it down for me because I am really trying to understand what you are talking about, what exactly are we cutting and Russia and China improving?

Seeing as the US spends on average about 12 times that of Russia, and 7 times that of China, on their military, I really don't see a problem.

Do you?

That is your tax money. You probably complain about welfare?

Not to mention the US started the escalation of weaponry in the first place, and other countries are simply trying to keep up in order to keep America less of a threat to them. People seem to think it's only America who has weapons for defense, but if you pay attention to history it becomes clear the opposite is the truth.

Russia and China are working had at building aircraft better than ours....more tanks.....in other words, they are prepping for the type of conflicts that PNAC thought were gone for good, in their arrogance.

ANOK, you really think that either Russia or China pays the wages that we do? Too many people get confused on the amount of money spent as opposed to what it is spent on. Are there things that can be cut? Of course. But right now, we have lifted our proverbial skirts and bent over in front of Russia.

It's been known in anarchist circles for centuries that the government is cold, calculating, and knows exactly what it's doing. But really we don't have a true impartial government, we have a government ran and controlled by capitalists.

The government we have is the result of whomever has the power to control it. In the case of a capitalist system power comes from wealth, so then it is obviously capitalists running the government.

So we shouldn't fear government as much as the system that allows wealth to be the controlling factor in society.

Capitalist controlled government is not a peoples government, it is bound to the expansion of markets and the exploitation of labour, in the wars it wages, and the refusal to let workers buy out their capitalist owners.

Shouldn't the question be who is really incompetent our leaders or the American people? It's the people that elect and allow our leaders to do these things.

So the best and the brightest and the top talent are actually incompetent?

Like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citi Bank etc that donated thousands to them?

I never said they did. Obviously they don't.

LOL those figure used took into account the countries differing economies. Just compare by the amount of troops and equipment and the percentages are the same.

For example the US has around 1,500 ships, China has 750, Russia around 500.

We really don't have to cut the military, although I would, we just need to cut out the wars to expand the global economy. How much more does the US spend on war compared huh? How much money is being made by the military industry? War is nothing but profit making and re-ordering the world order in order to expand global markets.

Or their prepping for invasion by the US, and Britain, France.

Why do you not think that they could be building for defense? Why does everybody else's spending on military have to be a threat of aggression, and only America's one of defense? What country is the aggressor right now?
Can you answer that question honestly? I bet you can't...

What kind of aircraft are they working on that would be better than ours? How many tanks would they need to have more than us?

I'm not saying that it isn't true, it's just that you make it sound like we stopped trying to make new and better weapons. But if you look around it seems like the opposite is happening...
