Also, before anyone asks: I didn't "discover" this myself, it got posted in a similar thread (A look inside google) on a different forum. Nontheless, I'm still extremely interested in this issue. Why would Google mirror an image?

If you go to Google's page for the servers photo, the caption raeads


Blue LEDs on this row of servers tell us everything is running smoothly.

Their servers were likely not all lit blue and running smoothly at the time of the photo shoot. They wouldn't want to show a bunch of red lights in a PR shot about data center efficiency, so touch up one side and mirror.
