Who will be the hendrix/floyd/beetles/stones of the 00's?

90s is cool too.

I was just thinking about how guys like Buddy Guy influenced jimi hendrix. Then jimi was the inspiration for the next generation.

Who do you think will be really influential to the next generation of musicians?
I wanna go with a band like Red Hot Chili Peppers. They were unique, carried on the tradition(they always admited jimi was a huge influence. Even did alot of covers)

Anyone think rock is done for good?

Like Hendrix? Maybe Joe Satriani, Derek Trucks or Buckethead

Floyd? No-one

Beatles? No one

Stones? Any hard rocking group..that writes great tunes

I would suggest the Foo Fighters carried Rock through the 00's. However there were a number of acts who came to the fore in Britain.

The Artic Monkey's are good and Kasabian are great.

Rock music lives and will continue to do so, just as long as someone prefers a little overdriven guitar and stomping drums. \m/

No one will be the innovators like those of the past. The Beatles took music from singles to concept albums. Floyd took it a step further. While not my favorite guitarist Hendrix DID change music. Stones? Sorry, never a fan. 2 bands that are quite influential today but not to the same degree as those in the past would be Tool and Slipknot.

PJ was predominantly a 90's band. Before 2000. While Tool and Slipknot formed in the 90's, most of their influential music was post 2000.

Tool? LMAO, No. Love most of their music, but no.

None of these bands today will be remembered in 25 years.
