Thanks for all the replies. I kind of ruled out the bug theory because of size. The way I was using the camera was such that had it been a large bug I'd have seen it and duly noted it. I'm on this property a lot so I'm used to seeing what's moving around.

My line of sight was such that for me to have not seen this meant that it was fairly high in the sky. Not to categorically rule out an insect but to say that if it was and was this big I should have seen it the way I was handling the camera. In fact to show up the size that it does it would have either been very close (should have caught my eye) or was fairly elevated.

It was a fairly slow day for bugs. We've been getting cool at night and have had a couple of light frosts which does thin the herd and if I'm not mistaken it had rained the night before which, this time of year, really slows them down. Whatever it is I thought it was interesting. My thanks to all.
