Parliament hill locked down briefly after explosives found in truck

www.ctvnews.ca

Parliament Hill was briefly locked down Thursday morning after RCMP officers discovered explosives in a pickup truck during a routine vehicle inspection, CTV News has learned.

CTV's Ottawa Bureau Chief Robert Fife said Parliament Hill and the House of Commons were immediately closed and RCMP and security officers quickly went into high alert.

"They discovered a pickup truck that was carrying explosives of the C4 variety. It turned out this apparently was a contractor who was working on Parliament Hill," Fife told CTV News Channel

the thing that bothers me the most about this story is this quote

"After investigating, security officials determined the contractor did not pose a threat and was simply trying to get to work. It isn't clear why he was carrying the C4 explosives"

now how can a guy driving around with C4 in his truck NOT be a threat? this makes me nuts!.

The first thing that popped into my head is "Stephen Harper will do ANYTHING to slow or shut down parliament .
" He is running out of reasons to prorogue.

Seriously, though, this makes no sense. That they have no idea where he was going with the C4, but yet he is not suspicious? It does sound like the event was planned to cause delay so in parliament, so that Harper and the conservatives could spend less time on all they are under scrutiny for.

Indeed... What would a contractor be doing around a seat of civilian Government anywhere with a pick-up carrying high grade military explosive? Perhaps it was for a presentation to lawmakers? Test units for their bomb screeners?

The thing that gets me though.....If you're going to Parliament or Congress in this nation, and you're carrying C-4 explosive, wouldn't you think to call ahead and let the guys with the guns know you're coming with something capable of seeing them crap bricks the size of watermelons? Heck, I'd think a man carrying that into a very secure area would have a proper escort, even if low key and not publicly obvious for what it was.....

....I mean how many people of the 'bad guy' variety would do almost anything it took to get that C-4 if they knew or even suspected some civilian contractor was driving a truck around with some in the back? They car-jack and kill everyone in the vehicle for a hell of a lot less than THAT jackpot. The whole thing strikes me as incredibly odd and worth asking much more about!

I love how it is like 10 hours later, and I come home expecting some more answers, and CTV doesn't even have it on their page, not even on the CTV Ottawa page. Seriously- C4... Parliament....
WTF?

Now the page you have linked has disappeared as well.
This is fishy, and CTV is in on the game.
What happens if there was to be an attack on parliament, and they were just installing the first round of bombs for after SHTF... Or maybe I'm just crazy.
But seriously, we are talking bombs being brought to our government building, without what seems like any prior knowledge. And now the link and CTV in general refuse to display even the smallest news blurb on it.

I'm going to look into this,

Nick

Preparations for November 5 and Guy Fawkes Day?

After all, we are getting the 'Royal' treatment in just about everything else.

LOOKY HERE
For some reason it showed up on a google search.
I find one line a little suspect

After investigating, security officials determined the contractor did not pose a threat and was simply trying to get to work. It isn't clear why he was carrying the C4 explosives.

Strange...

First it makes the news, then it's just a contractor with C4 "trying to get to work".

Looks like somebody doesn't want us to know about "Plan B" yet.

Seriously guys, you HAVE to know (given it has taken this long and there is still NO mainstream news report on this) It was a false flag "evasion" of Harper's least favorite topics to discuss now. (XL Foods Contamination, Exxon Sale, The Chinese company set to build our hi-tech military communication network.) Typical Harper.

nothing on the CTV national news tonight and all I can find is the original story.
How can a shutdown go unreported? This is quite bizzare

just found this on the Ottawa Citizen website

www.ottawacitizen.com...

here they say

It tested positive for a possible explosive substance.
and
The RCMP explosives disposal unit was called and found the vehicle posed no threat. It’s not clear what set off the alarm.

I guess we are to believe reports of C4 were "premature"

ah the news... are we suckers?

I've got a shotgun at home..does that make me a threat?

Just because he had explosives in his truck, does not mean he was going to commit an act of terrorism. Hence they investigated and determined he was not a threat.

He may have had the explosives for legitimate purposes in relation to his line of work.

I don't know why you are jumping to conclusions.

Do you think that anyone who walks by you, and looks at you, is potentially a threat and thinking about killing you?
Living life with constant paranoia is not healthy.

LOL, I swear everything is a "false flag" now on this site, you guys have been predicting them and nothing is happening..I'm happy that you guys are wrong, but get off the False flag crap..I swear with anything you just say "oh, false flaggg" this and that... It's getting rather annoying and makes me think that some of these "false" flag you guys been saying are, could not be at all, but legitimate terrorism..But who knows..

I'm happy our RCMP guys were on alert and did detect this device..Since I work for DND, it makes me have some piece of mind.

His line of work is renovations AT parliament, there is NO blasting going on there.
While after the national news last night there were no further reports in mainstream media
except the Ottawa citizen report suggesting it was a false positive in a standard check RCMP does to let vehicles onsite

As far as the shotgun thing goes... do you bring it to work? maybe your job requires it? maybe not....
I for one am not comfortable with guns at work... maybe you are? does that make you a threat? I guess it really depends on your intentions with it.... right?

no conclusion has been jumped too on my part other than questioning a story that stated a man doing renovations at parliament had a truck carrying military grade C4 was deemed not to be a threat...

maybe it was a non issue but Canada's parliament was "locked down" and it didn't make the national news.
Strange world we live in

This is ATS, not the "Canadian Military Family Magazine". You have a right to voice your annoyance with false flag predictions - but you have no right to ask anyone to "get off the false flag crap".

These are the kinds of topics that are regularly discussed on ATS, and as long as they follow the ATS T&C's - they are perfectly acceptable discussion and/or thread topics.

Many average citizens are not even aware of the meaning of a false flag or how prevalent and insidious they have been to the Western World over the past century or so.

So posters here are onto the PTB's tactics, and want to let them know we will be watching, and people here will call attention to anything that has the potential to be a false flag to raise awareness and shine a spotlight on these tactics with the hope that with more people aware of the potential they will be used less or not at all in the future.

Guys, not to be a weirdo or jerk,

but please google parliament and see how many of those have been destroyed, dismantled, or made obsolete in the last year, or even the last few months.
The list is longer than you think.

I could care less about intentions toward me. We're talking about a government building here.

What I find odd was they were nott really sure why he had them on him either according to the quote.
