so why was stevens killed after the seals perished ?

They thought he escaped...after they set fire to the consulate, they couldn't find him in the smoke inside the caged safe room (where the ex-SEALs took him) and the ambassador died from severe smoke inhalation.
Even after the terrorists left the area, frustrated...and the one ex-SEAL (still alive inside the safe cage room with the ambassador) crawled around looking for the ambassador couldn't see him through all the smoke after he kicked out the upper window to leave.

Furthermore, there was obviously NOT supposed to be any resistance to the terrorist-kidnappers (as prearranged). The two ex-SEALS, however, defied orders to NOT go to rescue and ended up killing up to sixty terrorists with captured AK-47s (according to Libyan witnesses). This obviously pissed-off the terrorists wh were expecting little of no defense.

Pavil, there's a problem in your logic. Obviously, this stuff wasn't supposed to blow into the public's face this way.

Just as with 9/11/01, this was supposed to be a staged show where the president gets to "save" the guy his own people had arranged to be kidnapped. And just as with 9/11/01, things did not go as planned.

Still it would be caving into a hostage taker.....Obama doesn't benefit from that. Go ask Jimmy Carter about it.

The 2 Seals killed 60 terrorists before they were killed. I would assume that would piss them off enough to kill him.

To answer the question in your subject line, Yes.

The Washington Examiner, quoting retired Four-Star Admiral James Lyons, writes: “the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi… was the result of a bungled abduction attempt…. the first stage of an international prisoner exchange… that would have ensured the release of Omar Abdel Rahman, the ‘Blind Sheik’…”

I really don't want to hear this is a conservative rag. Like any liberal media outlet will touch this story. They have been trying to have the word "Benghazi" removed from the English language.

Very good call, IAMTAT. You nailed it and deserve tons of applause for your insight.

I hope people do read the article. It list the questions that still need to be answered.

As for the headline of the article I didn't have the heart to print it. Obama has made himself above the law.
