Hi Guys,

A year and a half ago I started this thread

What useless facts do you know but never get to share?

It was just a bit of fun and I also learnt a few new things.

Ive recently got a gig doing trivia nights at a few pubs and while the actual hosting will be easy Im struggling to come up with the 300+ questions I will need on a weekly basis.
I dont want the questions to be too hard or specialised, I dont want to make people feel stupid, just stuff the average switched on person would have a good chance of knowing.

A few examples

Who said

1) God doesnt play dice?
2) We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender?
3) 640K is more memory than anyone will ever need on a computer?

Sports and games

1) In Monopoly how many properties are on the board (not including stations and utilities)?
2) What is the highest possible score in 10 pin bowling?
3) In rugby how many points for a Tri?

General

1) What is the worlds longest railway line?
2) The Pyramids remained the tallest man made structure for 1000's of years till 1889 when what was built?
3) Through which part of the body do dogs sweat?

The above questions are a bit on the easy side for most quiz nuts but I dont want to make them much harder as its more about having fun and getting everyone involved.

Anyone got any not to easy, not to hard questions I could use?

Dont put the answers in straight away, give us all a chance to have a guess.

Cheers

Why don't you just Google Trivia questions?

It will be a lot quicker than asking the ATS community. Okay, maybe not so much fun, but certainly quicker!!

However, I will play along:-

1) Who's famous last words were 'Bugger Bognor'?
2) In snooker how much is the green ball worth?
3) Why can no one hear you scream in space?

You may want to drop a few bucks on some large-scale content.
Something as inexpensive as a used copy of a more recent Trivial Pursuit...or as fancy (read:expensive) as a larger, compiled disc with 1000s of questions.

They would never be the questions that excite you, but they'd be the filler.

That would let you use your exhaustible list of interesting questions more sparingly, letting them serve as an occasional 'treat' while extending how long you last til you run out or have to start recycling.

English is an Germanic language not Latin/Romance. It was spread by the Anglo-Saxons in Britain from the 5th or 6th century(?). There are many Latin words used in English but as i believe it is mainly because Latin was used across Europe as the Lingua Franca and some words stuck.

I'm not being patronising in any way, just wouldn't like to see you get caught out by someone one day
