That's NOT true Dayve! We can all see your post history. Where do you say anything nice, good, positive, useful?

You don't have too much going on, you have plenty of free time, and you spend it being all about things that supposedly bother you...

Negative... Would be nice if all that was true because YOU said so, just cause i can take a few minutes out of my day to paddle around this site doesn't mean notta... Dont make this about me all the sudden, i didn't kill her....

www.abovetopsecret.com...
So that nobody has to take my word for it...this isn't "a few minutes", this is obsessive behavior.

His posting history has nothing to do with this thread. Personal attack anyone? He's made his opinion clear on how he feels about this just as you and other posters in this thread have. He's entitled to it.I don't always agree with the way he says things..but I back him 100 % in this thread. So some of you need to lay off the attacks on his character. I'm amazed that that the last few pages consisted of nothing but bickering but are still there and not removed. This thread ran its course after 5 pages. This is ATS not Facebook.

are you stuck on repeat or something?

That's exactly what I was going to say. And with that I'm going to bail out of this thread before I get slapped on the wrist again.

I have been trying to talk about the topic but all I can get is personal attacks and eulogies.

Yep I noticed that. I think everyone,no matter how we feel about it..needs to just respect each others opinions and lay off the personal attacks. We all have different beliefs but there's no reason it can't be discussed rationally, without emotions getting involved.

Amanda Scott was destined to kill her weak minded self.

Her name was Amanda Todd, and it's clear that you only possess a small amount of compassion. There are two possibilities here:

1) she was so starved for attention she decided to end her life in order to get it.

2) she was so depressed she decided to end her life to get away from it.

I watched her video. I saw her story. Someone doesn't go so far just to get attention. She was in need of serious help - and she never got it.

The responses all over Facebook and ATS regarding this tragedy is purely sickening. No wonder she ended her life...if that's the response I would have faced, I wouldn't have been able to stand it either. When you have people killing themselves because of how they are treated by their own species, for no legitimate reason, you have to think: what have we become that we are driving our own kin to say, "To hell with survival, I want out now."

What have we become? Stop blabbing about whether or not she should have done it, whether or not she deserved it, whether or not there were other ways out of her situation, and just think. The simply fact she did it, that's some true desperation. And it was her fellow humans who drove her to that desperation.

Stop making excuses, stop pointing fingers and judging people, and realize: it's not just her. It's hundreds of people who were driven to destroy themselves by other human beings. We're not the superior race. We're not the golden apple of creation. We're monsters. Plain and simple.

Yea I will never understand how people (who don't even know the girl) can judge her and speak of her character calling her a coward and selfish... The kid was obviously in pain, she made a mistake at a VERY young age, 12, and it haunted her til the day she took her own life... Amanda also needed a friend, maybe a shoulder to cry/lean on, but she didn't seem to have that support system in her life. It's just a sad story all around... Little kids don't understand the true consequences of the mistakes they make, so for people to hold a 12 year old to a high standard in that regard is beyond me...

This sounds like the selfish bullying attitude. If I felt like this I would find it hard to look myself in the mirror.

I too knew someone who took their life. It saddened me and I wondered if I could have helped. So now I watch and listen out for those who seem down. I kind word here and there can help. I have no problem looking at my face in a mirror.

A friend of mine knows like, 3 or 4 people who have taken their own lives. On top of that, he was working on a radio tower with a friend of his when his friend fell from the tower. Hours later, his friend died while he was sitting there holding his hand.

Yeah, my buddy knows how meaningless life can seem. I know how meaningless life can seem...alone, in the rain, with nothing but the deepest contempt for yourself, your city, and the world you live in to keep you company.

Few people seem to realize how little things worm their way inside and devour you from within, leaving you a lifeless husk with no reason to exist. And they look at you and see you the way they want you to be, instead of the way you are. They see the happiness they pretend to have, they seem the peace they pretend to possess, they see the illusion they desperately struggle to maintain - because if they didn't, they would be just like you.

Average on the outside, broken and dying on the inside.

Can you not understand that the whole point that people are trying to get through to you is that she is NOT "some random suicidal teen", some statistic, she was a real, flesh-and-blood human being who was so overcome with hurt and depression, due to the hatefulness and apathy she was facing, that she took her own life?
