This isnt going to backfire or anything.

Evanston Police Chief Richard Eddington told residents at a 2nd Ward meeting Thursday night that a planned gun buyback program will offer "market price" for some high-end firearms.

As if the normal stupidity of "buybacks" wasnt contributing to a black market enough here we have a fellow offering full retail price.

Come one come all and break into houses everywhere for pay better than fencing on the street!

Jacking up the reward for the risk isnt enough though. He has to continue on about how pointless the "buyback" is in the first place:

But he said he knows that a lot of the weapons likely to be collected will be ones unlikely to ever have been used in a crime -- "something that's been in Uncle Ben's drawer forever, or a shotgun that's been in the closet, even though the owner hasn't been hunting in 15 years," Eddington said.

So he admits it will do nothing while waving thousands of dollars in the faces of two-bit B&E crooks.

That's gotta be good for Evanston.

I wouldnt give a rats arse if they were offering 3x the market value. Im not giving up my guns for anything or anyone. This is just another way for them to demonize firearms in the public eye and get people to give up their right to bare arms

Who is taking bets for when:

  1. The first inventory "discrepency" in a gun buyback is found
  2. The first gun buyback is held at gunpoint by a major cartel
  3. Gun buyback fund are gathered with a "temporary" tax increase
  4. A police office sells his own personal firearms back at a premium

*facepalm* -Mags

You are correct.

They seem to be becoming more stupid all the time.

Stupid hell! thats what they did to Australians after some nut whacked a bunch of people. And just how convenient was that for the program?
I am convinced that the higher ups are KILLING us to bring about these social engineering projects they implement.7/7,9/11,Waco, Oklahoma city, Just how much of this gratuitous killing is real and how much is instigated by goverment and industrial forces to what ends?
We mean nothing to those who rule....just so much tripe to be used and abused to their benefit......
Buyback? No but maybe soon youll get some free lead.........

The funny part will be when someone doesn't get a good "retail" offer then tries to walk away.

Will they let the person go or will the have to accept the offer?

That's an interesting question. I have another one. Will they run a background check on everybody who turns in a gun?
