I don't think either one, won. Biden looked like he was a little lost sometimes, exasperated, and he lost his cool. But, that's what he is known for...but, to most Americans I don't think it comes off as reassuring. Ryan comes off as smirky, and he does avoid direct questions about what his ticket specifically is going to do for solutions to the problems this country is facing. He did, however, have the best line...to Biden...about how you say things and they come out wrong. That threw Biden off, I think, early on.

But, I think it was even. Neither really won, and ultimately that hurts Obama/Biden. And, for the record, I support neither candidate, and fully supported Ron Paul.

Biden has been given more time this whole debate..

The mod is letting him speak over ryan and get the last word...

This martha lady is a terrible moderator... I can imagine what
her wedding obamma was at...

Would of love to have heard her toast..

Back biting her own husband, mother, and father,,,

Ryan was on key to the point and didnt act like a rude old man
he did a damn good job..

Ryan wins this one

We are on the same page on that.

I predict, however, that Biden hurt Obama more than Ryan hurt Romney.

Biden contradicts State Department on Benghazi security
thecable.foreignpolicy.com...

"We weren't told they wanted more security. We did not know they wanted more security there," Biden said.

Doesn't the VP have to be qualified to step in AS the POTUS should circumstance require it? If so, what was with the kid on the right hand side, is he presidential material, and no I'm not just referring to age, but seasoned wisdom and experience over political opportunism.

Overall, I found Ryan more knowledgeable. I don't get that some think he did not answer the questions. I thought he clearly answered the questions, backed up by facts. I liked Ryan's responses better, but that is based on personal opinion because I personally agree with most of his statements.

Can you give me some of the specifics Ryan gave about his and Romney's plans?

Because Biden and the moderator asked for them multiple times and he flat out said they don't have them worked out yet.

I like Joe. That other guy with the hounddog face - what the hell was all that about? He had the same "If I keep talking I can prevent that other guy from beating the snot out of me" strategy that Romney had last week. I wanted to stuff a gym sock down is throat after 15 minutes of his blather.

Who knows what the idiot pundits will think. Who cares.

You could have said the same thing about Obama, so this is clearly your own partisan view.

Not quite.

I would translate in this manner:

Political establishment 1, American electorate 0

No kidding, some of you are fooling yourselves that either candidate will do much to change the mess the United States is facing.

(but it is amusing to read the back and forth banter among the ATS Republicans and Democrats during these debates)

Oh my god, quit your crying about the moderator.

Biden has been given more time this whole debate

Biden 41:32
Ryan 40:12

Seriously, how many more excuses can you make?

And then you go ahead and say Ryan won anyway, too funny.

Much better debate than the 1st Pres debate..

Both sides had their winning moments on different issues..

Moderator lost control, which looks to be the status quo for this years debates, still shaking my head that Lehrer dropped control...

I think in the end both VP candidates did well.. depending on your taste you may have seen one or the other as taking this one..

In the end, as someone lost in the center, I think that's good..

Great speaking with everyone.. thanks for the conversation

Five minutes after the debate and its clear many were were put off by Biden's approach.

Biden didn't close the deal with the undecideds, imo.

Maybe next time we could have Romney debate Biden.

Well, I will say that if Biden is an idiot, it doesn't say much for Ryan.

Biden won this debate and it will be interesting to see what happens in the polls.

You're right, to a degree, with the exception that Obama at the time, didn't come across as some sort of greedy opporunistic kid.
