Since it's in Florida I am going with it coming from a Giant Squid who's body was deteriorated by Corexit and the rest eaten by Salvia smoking zombies. The zombies realized the first eye didn't taste so good and carelessly left the other behind. That is the only conclusion I can come up with

More info on squid eye size compared to bill fish and whales . . .

For comparison, the largest fish eye is the 9-centimetre orb of the swordfish. It would fit inside the giant squid’s pupil! Even the blue whale – the largest animal that has ever existed – has measly 11-centimetre-wide eyes.

Discovery article on squid eyes

I'm sold on squid, but based on size it could be bill fish/whale . . . it's only about 3.5 - 4 in wide, unless a giant human is holding the eye.

I'm going with a shark eye. Reminds me a lot of a video I saw of when a great white shark was cut up for science in a program called inside natures giants.

In the video skip to 24mins 50seconds and you will see the eye removed.

Thanks for all the great (and funny) suggestions, everyone!

Keep 'em comin'! Someone has to be right, but I can't wait to see what the professionals determine.

They may be the largest, but they do not look like the one in the photo, at least to me.

First impression - Marlin, or some other billfish.

Phage. Can you walk me through this?
Did you:
A) See the eyeball and say, "Oh I have a picture of a Marlin eye on my hard drive. I should post it. I knew this Marlin eye would be useful one day".

B) Search Google for Marine life eyeballs and discover a match.

C) Other.

Just wondering.
Wow whateve phage did I think he's spot on.

I'm Going with phage's theory for the win. Looked at the marlin photo he supplied and that looks exactly correct

As said before, I bet its a swordfish or a type of tuna.

Looks awefully similar.

Just when you think the world couldn't get any stranger, this happens... In my home state! Maybe soon the body that this eye belongs to will wash up? Man! That would be great, I strangely hope it belongs to something more than just some squid or whale.

I'm going to go with the other guesses, a giant squid. But, how did the poor thing lose it's eyeball?

It's the Guyver!

I was leaning on squid just as everyone else, but seeing it compared to the marlin/bill fish, I think I'm sticking to the marlin. It really does resemble.
