One thing that annoys me more than anything else is:

Explaining the difference to people of what a liberal and a socialist is, many times to the same poster, only for the libel to continue unabbated. I guess by calling most liberals "socialists" that allows the far right lunatics with their middle age view of government, to get away with their elitist driven agenda of privitising everything under the sun and destroying any and all forms of social welfare.

All for the benefit of having an enormous military-industrial complex to be able to go to war at a moments notice. As for laissez faire capitalism I think both want that and it shows with their actions. Multinational companies totally immune from anti-trust legislation. Banks getting trillions of dollars with the fake hope of creating jobs, when all they had to do was increase tariffs.

So basically all I hear are sex scandal allegations and birth control issues. What a way to say "I agree with the beorgoise screwing me over" with so many strawman obfuscations. Pathetic!

You are correct. The term combining the two terms into "liberal socialist" is not in any way fair to all of the good, honest, hard-working Socialists out there. Just like applying the term "conservative" to the Libertarians is also an injustice.

Time is relative and science will soon have an acceptable explanation for these biblical references that don't make sense to some people.

What about the idiot lefty that thinks a certain island will "tip over and capsize" if it keeps getting "overly populated" ?

Yeah...but you know what the difference is?

You don't find even a SINGLE "lefty" trying to make excuses for this idiot or claim that it if "god" parted the Red Sea...then he also just might capsize guam someday.

So Congrats...you found one. I guess that makes the score of instances displayed of elected officials not understanding science something like 1 to 600,000,0000,000,000,000,000.

PS. Try actually reading Einstein's Relativity sometime so you can see how absolutely ridiculous you sound invoking "relativity" as a reason why Mother Goose's Big Book of Nonsense will somebody be "proven".

Religion versus atheism is a false dichotomy. Both are sophistry to mask the alien reality!

Angels are good aliens and demons are bad aliens. Of course with a touch of relativism...

Watching the ancient astronaut series has blown my mind away. I feel 200 years older than what I should; both positively and negatively. Positively because now I know why the world is so messed up on purpose and negatively because there isn't much hope.

Humans evolved via intelligent guidance; dna manipulation to be specific. So why micro-evolution takes place over time, macro-evolution needs a hands-on approach. The left neglects these details. From a religious perspective and a right wing perspective we could say god/satan/angels/demons created the earth and all life, but they don't mention what god/satan/angels/demons are.

The system has succeded in polarizing people so that they keep their mouth open and their minds shut!

You are confusing pseudo-science with real science

Except, of course, that this is utterly, completely, and fantastically false. There are THOUSANDS of documented cases in the historical, archeological, paleological and genetic record. Everything from Archeopteryx to a. sediba shows us that macro evolution is not only possible...but downright run-of-the-mill.

Now is it possible that there might have been genetic manipulation? Sure...I'll allow for that. But declaring that to be "fact" without any tangible evidence is downright lunacy. I personally have concluded that there are CLEARLY huge, massive, missing chapters missing from human history. The megalithic ruins are evidence of this that we see and touch. However...that doesn't mean that it "must have been aliens"...it could just be that in the far, far distant past humanity reached an apex of civilization and technology which was then interrupted for some reason...whether that was disease, natural disasters, warfare...who knows.

However...before we jump off the deep end on wild conjecture, perhaps we should just stick to things which are real. How does that sound?

Really?
Look at it this way, if someone were to tell you about 50 years ago that it is possible to bend light, you would dish out the same ridicule treatment, maybe even bust out in a Biden laugh.

You are trying too hard. It's really not that complicated if you think outside the box and apply certain modern day scientific principles. It's actually much simpler than you think to begin to grasp the concept.

Since light can bend, then most likely so can time.
Which means time can no longer be looked at as something linear with respect to it's unit of measure.
Like everything else in the universe, it can probably be prone to decay.
Of course there would be no way to measure and compare the degree of this decay loss because there is no way to theorize what the original levels were when time began on Day One, aka the Big Bang moment.

Time is universal and it applies to everything, so we know it has experienced a black hole somewhere along the way since it began.
That means, all concepts of trying to apply a linear unit of measure to time itself, just went out the window.
Don't be surprised if the next major scientific discovery begins to touch on this.

There is a good possibiliy that the annukaki or nephelim destroyed mankind through their "agents of chaos"(the illuminati) here on earth and other planets. What about the ruins on the moon and mars for example? Who knows....

Lots of things could be real. It is what people are allowed to see because they are unclassified and/or because they are not in some exclusive private collection. For example do you know giant skeleton remains are held in some museums in special sections TOTALY OFF-LIMITS to the general public? Gee, I wonder why....

Nope. I am not confusing anything with anything. Science fiction is science and science is science fiction.

EarthCitizen07 (You know ATS has a rule you have to be able to see your profile name so it can't be the same color as the background - Hope it helps)

One thing I noticed is that in the 50's and 60's actually right up until lately people did not have a problem reconciling religion with science. They did not take everything written by a culture that lived 2000 or 3000 years ago, literally today.

While it may be true that female ducks have evolved in such a way that they now have a biological anti-pregnancy response to forced sex, human beings most definitely have not.

Just because human knowledge progresses doesn't suddenly mean you can say "f*** it, everything's possible...just need to wait for proof"

Especially if the real basis for your claims are religious beliefs from a book that is DEMONSTRABLY wrong in HUNDREDS of cases...

THE BASIS for many sci-fi movies is indeed real, not the movie plot.

Are you gullible enough to think......... "they create from thin air"...... "just imagination"

If it helps you sleep better at night then fine. I would rather live in "probability land".

Man, what the hell happened to you that has now left you mad at the world and at God?
The book is not demonstrably wrong, its just misunderstood, you just need to understand how it was written.
You can't expect biblical man to grasp a modern day scienttific understanding and expect them to describe biblical events based on your terms.
Just because they interpreted the events in their terms the best they could doesn't mean they are wrong.
That's part of the mystery of trying of decode what they were trying to convey, so quit being lazy and quit expecting to be spoon fed, nothing is easy.
Dont cop out, take the plunge, I dare you.

If objective evidence proves they were wrong....yes, it does automatically mean they were wrong. Take that global flood for example, we know for a FACT that a global flood never happened. The same goes with the exodus of the Jews, never happened the way it says in the bible. Or the whole "guy gets swallowed by whale and lives" thing which obviously is complete nonsense too. Or the Genesis account, also nonsense as humans clearly didn't just pop up on earth in their current form.

And they aren't a matter of interpretation either. We KNOW those things never happened, which makes it even more amazing that people base their belief on it.

And I'm not "angry" at believers or some god...I am merely disappointed that people still base their opinions on irrational things because they VOTE based on it too. So every time I read nonsense like "global flood happened", I know that will lead that person to vote in an irrational way similar to someone voting based on Harry Potter instead of thinking LOGICALLY.

...and your objective proof of that is?

For crying out loud, the imagination has been inspiration for hundreds of years

Wow. You’re the problem people that do not know history are doomed to repeat it. You do not think racist laws and issues are not at the heart of what is going on in Washington. Obama does not have an agenda to get revenge over racist issues of the past. You must be kidding me buddy. To top it off you miss the point of how Welfare, food stamp, Medicare, SS, Medicaid are all being used to keep poor people subservient to the government. I guess you’re just another racist democrat since history does not matter. Spare me! By the way I was in the race riots in Birmingham Alabama when water cannon and attack dogs were ordered by Democratic leader to be used on the blacks and whites. I was 4 years old in the middle of a war zone my mother carrying me to save our lives. I guess history does not matter. I just to forget about it. Well, take a hammer hand hit your left hand as hard as you can. Do it again tomorrow it should not matter it is history. What the big deal. Beaten by a democrat, lynched, killed, and thrown in jail because I was the wrong color or did not vote for a democrat. I am to forget about that. Think again. I am so mad you cannot imagine. Communism was 25 years ago and I guess it is not relevant. Let do it then just ignore history. I think Shakespeare in Macbeth and Julius Ceasar show the dangers of arrogance in leadership. We have not ignored that part of history. We do not ignore WWII and it seems to be relevent today. I guess we only remember the history important to you. Promise me you will never run for office and do me a favor do not vote. You scare the crap out of me. Like my dad said you cannot fix stupid!!!!
