Charlie Fuqua, a Republican candidate for the state House in Arkansas, who faced harsh criticism last week for calling for the expulsion of Muslims from the U.S., is back under the microscope for appearing to support the death penalty for “rebellious children.”
Fuqua’s call for disrespectful children to be “permanently removed from society” in his 2012 book “God’s Law: The Only Political Solution.” It is the same book in which the would-be lawmaker promoted that Muslims be removed from America in order to solve the nation’s “Muslim problem.”

King is leading the effort in Congress to give dogfighters and cockfighters a free pass, and to keep the penalties weak for criminal animal fighting.

“It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare,” Mr. Akin said of pregnancies from rape. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

It's fun to label crazies on both sides of the aisle... all the more reason to get serious about strict term limits in The House and Senate. All of that power rots the brain equally... just look at the crap that oozes out of Pelosi's mouth and Barney Franks rear end... Detached and completely out of touch with reality and the average constituent.

This is far from fun. This is FRIGHT NIGHT. Pelosi and Frank have made some poor choices, granted but if I were on a deserted island I'd choose Pelosi and Frank over these folks who seem to have a hinge permanently unscrewed.

He became chairman of the committee, now called the House Financial Services Committee, in 2007. Congressman Frank received more than $40,000 in campaign donations from Fannie between 1989 and 2008. According to OpenSecrets.com, this places Congressman Frank at 16th on the list of those receiving funds and 5th in the House. Political action committees financed by both Freddie and Fannie have contributed $3,017,797 to members of Congress since 1989. And according to the July 16 issue of Politico, the two entities have spent a whopping $200 million to buy influence – including not only campaign donations to members of Congress, but also presidential campaigns and lobbying efforts.

On September 10, 2003, the Bush administration recommended regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry. The overhaul was to create a new agency within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The administration's proposal, which was endorsed in large part today by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, would not repeal the significant government subsidies granted to the two companies. And it does not alter the implicit guarantee that Washington will bail the companies out if they run into financial difficulty; that perception enables them to issue debt at significantly lower rates than their competitors. Nor would it remove the companies' exemptions from taxes and antifraud provisions of federal securities laws.

After the hearing, Representative Michael G. Oxley, chairman of the Financial Services Committee, and Senator Richard Shelby, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, announced their intention to draft legislation based on the administration's proposal. Industry executives said Congress could complete action on legislation before leaving for recess in the fall.

''The current regulator does not have the tools, or the mandate, to adequately regulate these enterprises,'' Mr. Oxley said at the hearing. ''We have seen in recent months that mismanagement and questionable accounting practices went largely unnoticed by the Office of Federal ousing Enterprise Oversight,'' the independent agency that now regulates the companies.
