This is a very good look at the man and his mission and what it would mean to the United States of America to have this man as president. Now you all know that Bush is going to win, but when you are in the booth, look at what "would have been" and you "would have voted" for it!

The military will be crippled -- again. Like Bill Clinton, Kerry purports to be a military supporter. And, yes, Kerry served his country with honor. But Kerry's actions upon his return to the United States and his efforts on behalf of the anti-military faction of American liberalism are inexcusable. During his tenure in the Senate, Kerry repeatedly voted to cut back the military; in 2003, Kerry voted against $87 billion to support troops in harm's way. He also campaigns for allowing open homosexuals into the military, a move that will surely undermine morale and morality in our armed services. Kerry insists that he will strengthen the military, but which John Kerry will show up? If Bill Clinton was any indicator of Democratic "strong" military policy, we're in real trouble.

Your taxes will rise. If you're a government leech, vote for John Kerry. Otherwise, a vote for John Kerry means more out of your paycheck. Don't buy the Clintonesque political demagoguery that Kerry will sock it to the millionaires while leaving the rest of us untouched. Look at Kerry's Senate record instead.

If you're a member of the middle class, Kerry wants to raise your taxes. If you own stocks or a car, Kerry wants to raise your taxes. If you die or get married, Kerry wants to raise your taxes. Even if you use the Internet, Kerry might want to raise your taxes; he said in 2001 that online taxation would be needed in the near future. Kerry voted against the Bush tax cuts. Kerry has promised a tax increase of $700 billion -- and that's a low-end estimate. If he actually fulfills his campaign spending promises, make that estimate closer to $1.7 trillion. Don't be surprised if a Kerry administration transforms economic boom into stagnancy or even recession.

and yet when i step up to the polls this nov 2 im going to vote for kerry. Even if he turns the economy to crap and makes a huge devicite i still want to see what he does. For some reason i dont like bush i really dont know why i dislike him but the iraq war has something to do with it and kerry also promotes freedoms that bush doesn't. Bush seems to push his religous views on people well kerry has said at least during the debates that he wouldnt do that if he was president.

I'm sure any economical challenges the US faces will be directly related to the spending Bush has done in the last few years... you cant keep borrowing to keep the income flowing... maybe it was this philosophy that caused all his business ventures his daddy funded to fail...

Any crippling of the military would probably be related directly to the quagmire called Iraq that bush has gotten your country into.

Higher taxes isnt a bad thing as long as public services come from them. If higher taxes means universal health care, better education (so that maybe some people in your country can know that the UK and Britain are essentially the same place), and other services that many cant afford (due to the upper classes greed and wealth hoarding), i dont see why this is a problem.

And edsinger... how much does the neo-cons pay you to spend all your time posting anti-democrat crap?

(1) No the crippling of a military comes from the Clinton like care that was taken. The war in Iraq is what we HAVE a military for. To protect Americans after WE are attacked.

(2) Well lets just take education, we already spend MORE per student than any where else in the world. What do we get for this money? #. Why? Because the Left has no consquence to its funding. THrowing more money at it will NOT fix it. Been tried before and it doesnt work.

(3) Neo-con? What them Liberal bastards? I think not.......

Oh you mean the war that proved Saddam had links to terrorism, and had huge stockpiles of WMD's... i think your referring to the war that distracted everyone... you know distracted us from realising that the guy who allegedly masterminded the attack on the US is still at large... the fact that more troops were thrown to oust Saddam, than were sent to find Osama... when will you just admit the Iraq war was a mistake and had nothing to do with the defense of American or 9/11.

And in regards to education, if money isnt fixing it, then you guys have some serious social and cultural problems you need fixing. Why is your education system failing you? More money would mean better facilities, higher paid teachers (which means they give a # about their job more). and more resources... if its not working, find the problem and fix it instead of just ignoring and cutting funding to it... and where did you get that figure that the US has more money per student? I'd like to see a source coz i believed that to be untrue.

and if you call the neo-cons liberal... well we may have some extreme right here on our hands... and we all know what came from the extreme right

Well as I have already shown here:

and here

and here

There were links from Iraq and Al Qaeda, the 911 report admitts this. THe link can NOT be established with 911. As for WMD, I still am not convinced he didnt have anthrax , I mean why did he have a purchase order for 2kg in 2000? Look, believe that there were not massive bunkers of the stuff, but what he did have he could have easliy given to terrorists of which he was a major funder even under sanctions. All folks here do is spout the soundbites...READ.

I agree we have big problems and the more socialistic we get the worse they will get. Raises for teachers? I wholeheartedly agree IF they teach. Do you know that you cant fire a teacher here for poor performance of the students? It is one of the few industries where this is happening. Even Ted Kennedy the conservative senator from massechusetts agrees.

I've read your posts previously and they have always failed to convince me, so please dont take offense if i dont go over them again (i'm at work so i have work to do as well and fight my war against the right).

As for 'socialistic' education, it would set a minimal standard that children would have so as to ensure everyone in the country is educated to a certain level. Without a 'socialistic' system, only the rich and privilidged would have access to decent education (which is basically how it is now, but it would get worsE) while the poor have no way to improve their knowledge and gain skills needed to get a decent job... thus keeping them poor and widening the gap between the rich and poor.

And yes, ed. I know know assholes have senses of humour too and sometimes a bit of humour is needed when war between the extreme right and left is being waged... otherwise it would just be abuse and opinions and we dont want that

BTW - great post

It's funny how Kerry, perhaps THE SINGLE MOST LIBERAL SENATOR IN THE COUNTRY, talks about tax cuts and fiscal responsability along with a strong military. These are all polar opposites of liberal fundamentalism (hmmmm.... I kind of liked that last part).

I would love to see ALL get an equal education but the no school vouchers etc etc etc have given us a less capable education system. We already spend MORE than anyone else, so what is the point of throwing more money at a problem that more money will not fix. We need a new approach.

Bud, hate to say it, but you are generally considered to be a soundbite guy. If you really run as heavy as the folks at Free Republic (which I personally think you do), then you more than likely think that Socialism is a discusting form of government, and the Europeans are idiots to even try it.

That flavor, in your posts, certainly takes the punch out of your points. You really seem to be a "true believer".

Well I would expect nothing less, I type my opinions and they are not all soundbites. I feel I hold my own. As for agreeing with my point of view, I would not expect you to, but soundbites? Ok you are so entitled.

Well as a matter of fact I do. I do not like socialism, it is only a step above communism to me. I believe that capitalism can have safety nets but not to the extent that the entire economy is burderned by those who will take advantage of others hard work. Socialism is not a sucessful economic model. It is stagnant, the United States is a good example of this, the more we lean left, the worse it gets, the more we lean right, the better it gets. I still consider the USA a socialist nation, has been since FDR.

Well at least I express myself well then. Success!

But- we will be rid of this:

Few Americans would have voted for George W. Bush four years ago if he had promised that, as President, he would:

Empty the Social Security trust fund by $507 billion to help offset fiscal irresponsibility and at the same time slash Social Security benefits.

Cut Medicare by 17 percent and reduce veterans benefits and military pay.

Eliminate overtime pay for millions of Americans and raise oil prices by 50 percent.

Give tax cuts to businesses that sent American jobs overseas, and, in fact, by policy encourage their departure.

Give away billions of tax dollars in government contracts without competitive bids.

Involve this country in a deadly and highly questionable war, and

Take a budget surplus and turn it into the worst deficit in the history of the United States, creating a debt in just four years that will take generations to repay.

I'll take evil Kerry any time.

well the US hasn't gotten any better over the past 4 years. The 90s were prosperous, Clinton's fiscal reforms sure helped that continue and they helped the global economy very, very much.

Then we have the Bush Administration, spending money like a drunk at a strip club, maxing out the US credit card like the previous republican administration. You don't cut taxes when you can't even afford your own budget, it's stupid. Any fiscally responsible person can agree with that. If you want to cut taxes to stimulate the economy, cut spending then cut taxes. Always keep a surplus.

thanks,
drfunk

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually on your side more often than not. Only problem is, is it's really the demonization of the opposition that is most striking. Socialism is actually a very good government structure, if that's what you want out of your government. I like to live in a place where I can decide what's best, but to each his own.

Truth is, is that there is no form of government that is suitable to governing this man people. Unfortunately humans are limited over the long term due to their inherent flaws no matter the government.

The perversion of communism is what really happened when it was enacted practically (as is apparent in Animal Farm, which I thought was great).

We have perverted capitalism in much the same way, as would we pervert any form of government enacted. It's really personal preference.

I think the venom detracts from your ideas (oddly this is the same advise I gave Colonel).

You know Ed you point out what John Kerry's "America" will be if he is elected, which I do believe you exagerrated quite abit. But why don't we be fair and balance, like Fox news LOL. Lets see Bush's America if hes reelected, hmmm i imagine health care premiums will be even more ridiciously higher. Lets see after over a 1000 US soliders lives lost in Iraq, we will start another war with Syria, N Korean, or Iran. Probably hit one maybe two in the next four years. Which means a draft because lets face it we are already stretched pretty thin around the world. Hmmm what else? Oh well UN probably wont exist because lets face it Bush has no regards for the UN whatsoever. Oh thats right our allies wont be with us since he pushed them away. Lets see a great education system, your right with the funding in no child left behind. We put new security systems in the schools and let them use 30 year old text books. College Tuition will be outrageous, therefore fewer kids will go to school, which means what more burgerflippers? Hmmm oh no cheaper medicine, since Bush wont let us buy drugs from Canada. Lets see Iraq is already a hotbed for terrorists, oh your right Iraq was a great war to start since they already almost at a civil war. Oh good news is we will have more jobs, yeah in China, Japan, Mexico, anywhere except the US. Oh im sure we will have more newer verisions of the partiot act so less civil liberities. You know if you want to live in Bush's America thats your choice, and thats why we will all get a vote in the matter in November 2nd. Im voting for Kerry because I believe this man can do great things for this country, and im tired of the same!
