(1)Any crippling of the military would probably be related directly to the quagmire called Iraq that bush has gotten your country into.
(2)Higher taxes isnt a bad thing as long as public services come from them. If higher taxes means universal health care, better education
(3)And edsinger... how much does the neo-cons pay you to spend all your time posting anti-democrat crap?

(1) No the crippling of a military comes from the Clinton like care that was taken. The war in Iraq is what we HAVE a military for. To protect Americans after WE are attacked.
(2) Well lets just take education, we already spend MORE per student than any where else in the world. What do we get for this money? #. Why? Because the Left has no consquence to its funding. THrowing more money at it will NOT fix it. Been tried before and it doesnt work.
(3) Neo-con? What them Liberal bastards? I think not.......

Oh you mean the war that proved Saddam had links to terrorism, and had huge stockpiles of WMD's... i think your referring to the war that distracted everyone... you know distracted us from realising that the guy who allegedly masterminded the attack on the US is still at large... the fact that more troops were thrown to oust Saddam, than were sent to find Osama... when will you just admit the Iraq war was a mistake and had nothing to do with the defense of American or 9/11.

And in regards to education, if money isnt fixing it, then you guys have some serious social and cultural problems you need fixing. Why is your education system failing you? More money would mean better facilities, higher paid teachers (which means they give a # about their job more). and more resources... if its not working, find the problem and fix it instead of just ignoring and cutting funding to it... and where did you get that figure that the US has more money per student? I'd like to see a source coz i believed that to be untrue.

As for 'socialistic' education, it would set a minimal standard that children would have so as to ensure everyone in the country is educated to a certain level. Without a 'socialistic' system, only the rich and privilidged would have access to decent education (which is basically how it is now, but it would get worsE) while the poor have no way to improve their knowledge and gain skills needed to get a decent job... thus keeping them poor and widening the gap between the rich and poor.
