The politicians beliefs are why the church and state were separated by the founding fathers.

Too bad modern America is welcoming their union.

Several years ago I started going to church until father’s day when the preacher started talking about how in ancient times if your child was rebellious they would be stoned to death.

I stood up walked out and embraced atheism.

I will never support a political party that embraces fairy tales and denies science. Those people have no business in politics.

The kids who are truly screwed are so because of who had them.

Stop idiots from reproducing and throw parents of difficult children in jail.

Two birds, one stone. The tubes practically tie themselves.

Stop equating a fetus with a grown child, people!

At least admit there is a difference otherwise masturbation is going to have to be accepted as murder too, because all those potential human beings are being denied the possibility of life. That way insanity lies.

How are pictures going to prove anything? Just because one resembles the other does not make them equivalent. There are obviously varying degrees of life and consciousness, starting with sperm, and ending with a fully grown child, and that's why we have rules about when we can and cannot terminate an unborn fetus.

But saying abortion is the same as murdering a grown child who has lived a real life outside of another human host is simply wrong. Whether you support abortion or not, the two will never be the same.

Charlie Fuqua, the Republican candidate for the Arkansas House of Representatives who called for expelling Muslims from the United States in his book, also wrote in support for instituting the death penalty for "rebellious children."

In "God's Law," Fuqua's 2012 book, the candidate wrote that while parents love their children, a process could be set up to allow for the institution of the death penalty for "rebellious children," according to the Arkansas Times. Fuqua, who is anti-abortion, points out that the course of action involved in sentencing a child to death is described in the Bible and would involve judicial approval. While it is unlikely that many parents would seek to have their children killed by the government, Fuqua wrote, such power would serve as a way to stop rebellious children.

I hate it when the Bible gets misquoted. Rebellion is not disobedience. The prodigal son in the story that Jesus told was disobedient not rebellious. He chose to disobey the wishes of his father, but his father always loved him. Rebellion is not disobedience but hatred to the point of violence. It is the point to where a son is defiant physically against the parent. Old Israel had laws they enforced to keep the peace and protect lives.

If a nation rebels it throws off the authority of the superior power ruling it. It does so with guns and warfare, and violence. Rebellion is rebellion. If a nation disobeys the authority, it is merely not complying with the wishes of the governing power of it. I hope you see the difference.

You're daft if you think that the God of the Old Testament cared about innocent babies. I can cite numerous scriptures where God orders the destruction of the unborn, including instructions to priests on how to perform abortions on women suspected of adultery.

Like it or not, today's societies rise above the morals and ethics of the Biblical God. Even if only by a razor's edge, today we are better than that.

So if an eight year old throws a tantrum, starts to yell, says "I hate you mum" and tries to throw a punch or a kick, that's worhy of an agonizing death, is it? I have seen that behaviour in a great percentage of kids who have turned out to be decent, successful people.

You hate it when people misquote the Bible, well I hate it when people try to rationalize obvious atrocities.

In the GOP, this is the norm, not the exception. Not just that, you guys really need to look into Christian Reconstruction and Christian Dominionism. You will be shocked by how much the dangerous religious philosophies of, Rousas John Rushdoony and Francis Schaeffer have on the GOP, and the Envangelical Fundamentalist Christian movement. That is sweeping the nation and spiritually destroying churches, and taking over governments at the local, state, and federal.
.

You sir, are spot on!

I am a fundamentalist Christian, please hear me out.

This man is obviously very wrong in his beliefs. I don't know if many of you are aware, but there are some Christians who see the changing face of Christianity and we know how dangerous it is. There is a sect that is calling themselves the New Apostolic Reformation. They believe they have new apostles, new revelations through modern-day prophets, and they also believe that they can perform miracles. Most of what you are seeing as "Christians" in politics today are from this sect and their beliefs in Dominion Theology/ Kingdom Now are complete heresy.
Here is a list of just some of their beliefs:

The OT Law is our rule of life for today. In addition, the OT Law is to govern over society as well. Since we are called to subdue the earth (Gen 1:28), God’s Law should rule (or dominate) all aspects of society. This view is known as theonomy (or God’s law), and is described by Greg Bahnsen as, “The Christian is obligated to keep the whole law of God as a pattern for sanctification and that this law is to be enforced by the civil magistrate” (Theonomy p34). This would mean that Christians would be obligated to keep the whole OT Law except in a case in which the NT explicitly cancels a command, such as the sacrificial system.

DT teaches a high level of social and political activism. If the Kingdom of God is to gradually take dominion over the earth, it only makes sense that Christians should be attempting to change society through the changing of laws and through social action.

Followers of DT, like many Charismatics, especially the Latter Rain movement, looks for a great end time revival in which the masses will turn to Christ. As a result DT does not believe in the rapture. The world should be, and is becoming, a better place through the efforts of Christians.

As with many others who follow the teachings of George Ladd, DT believes that we are in the Kingdom age, but the Kingdom in another sense is yet to come. We are in the Kingdom, and have Kingdom authority, but on the other hand, we are ushering in the Kingdom through our efforts. “The Kingdom is now, but not yet,” is a popular slogan.

DT is postmillennial. It is believed that as a result of the reconstruction of society by Biblical principles that the final aspect of the Kingdom of God will be established on earth. Christ cannot return until a certain amount of dominion is achieved by the church. It is believed that the curse will slowly be removed as the world is won over. Even disease and death will be all but eliminated before Christ returns to the earth.

Dominion Theology and the NAR

These people are infiltrating the political arena in an attempt to usher in the New Kingdom. They believe that if they can bring about a good enough climate here on earth through forcing their form of Christianity on people, then Christ will return and let them reign over everyone else. This is in direct contradiction to traditional Christian belief that there will be a falling away from the faith in the last days and the world will be in chaos from the judgements being poured out on the earth.

The fact that this man is wanting to enforce OT law brings up red flags that he is probably part of the NAR movement. As a Christian, our beliefs are founded on the fact the Christ came into this world to fullfill the law and its requirements. Returning to OT law would in fact be denying the power and work of Christ on the cross.

Yes...because LUCKILY they don't get their way and our laws aren't based on the bible

All it means is that the sane rest of us are numerous enough to prevent them from changing that...even if it pisses off some fools like that GOP candidate

You need to do some research on the Christians in Africa, and how they're burning people for "witch-craft" these days.

America isn't the only nation on the planet that has Christians in it.

There is plenty of American history to prove that Christians have murdered innocent people for their perceived crimes. It's only secular law that stops many Christians from carrying out the laws of the Old Testament, even today. Some don't even care about that.

A white power activist campaigning to be the next Bonner County sheriff hosted a cross burning last week with fellow Ku Klux Klan members and is defending the ceremony as a historic Christian ritual.

“Most people don’t know that we don’t just oppose the Jews and the Negroes,” Winkler said, according to the newspaper. “We also oppose sexual predators and drugs of any kind.

We are also Christian organization and believe a good Christian home is the best way to teach our children; to have good morals and to respect the laws of nature. We can say to the world without apology that our forefathers founded this as a Christian nation.

That is the purpose of the K.K.K to re-establish and maintain it as such. A white Christan country for God, Race and Nation.

Michael Donald was a young African American man who was murdered by two Ku Klux Klan members in Mobile, Alabama, in 1981...........

Local police initially stated that Donald had been killed as part of a drug deal gone wrong.

Oh well then, I guess he deserved it.

There are all kinds of strange people in politics. They are not all in the GOP, it's just that partisan liberals have been digging up these comments diligently. The liberal media is so in the tank for their demi-god.
I never hear liberals complaining about John Holdren's plans to mass medicate the entire country and even the world to sterilize them without their knowledge or consent. I NEVER hear conmplaints from the pro Obama crowd about this. And the purpose of this is to de-populate. Liberals are on board with this because they agree and believe that humans are parasites ruining the perfect planet.
Where are you folks on freedom of choice? An unborn baby has no choice. The priorities of so many people are so mixed up.
