So when you go to Obama, com you are redirected. So best thing to do is go for the IP to avoid the redirect. bgp.he.net... The IP for Obama.com is 74.220.215.84. A search on 74.220.215.84 shows it is tied to Utah Blue host inc. whois.domaintools.com...

This has more:

No one is (or should be) all that surprised that the Obama campaign has again removed security protocols that would prevent illegal credit card donations from outside the US, (about the same time he has a record setting month for donations *cough-cough*). But would you be surprised to learn that the Outsourcer in Chief’s web site, Obama.com, is owned and run by the CEO of a Chinese Infomercial company run by an Obama bundler… Acorn International, with ties to state-controlled banks that allow it to “gain revenue through credit card transactions with Chinese banks.” So here’s a guy, a US citizen, whose whole nut is dependent on the good graces of Chinese state-run television. A guy with close ties to big Chinese banks and to the White House, who is helping Obama fund-raise using a system that just happens to allow illegal credit-card donations to the Obama campaign from anywhere in the world. Nothing to see here.

Is this the breaking scandal involving foreign donors?

If so, wow, what a pathetic buildup to absolutely nothing. Do you think Obama controls everyone in the world? Do you think Obama owns every single website with his name included in it?

I think I might register a website, "martiansforobama.com" and redirect it to the donation page, then maybe Brietbart.com will write an article about how voters should be worried about martians donating to Obama.

Where do they get their logic? Another non-story, more anti-Obama porn for the Obama haters. And another antic that will gain no new voters.

Do you know who runs the "Government Accountability Institute"?

A well known, highly partisan, conservative "Peter Schweizer" is who runs the "GAI". Of course he named it that so people will confuse it with the official "GAO". And if you bother to read the article, they flat out say that nothing illegal is being done. They claim there is a potential for "illegal donations", which they admit Romney is vulnerable to as well.

But I don't see you having Romney in your title or your OP, because irrational hate for an individual is what drives your agenda.

And please tell me what else is coming, because if you "know" this is just the beginning, then you must have knowledge of what is to come. Or you are just talking ignorantly while blind to any facts.

I just did a google search for 'obama.com website'.

It comes up, and without clicking on it, I previewed the home page. It is asking for donations and has a list of rules on it, saying that by donating, you agree that, among other things, are a citizen of the US.

Well, even if Obama *did* get website donations from foreigners (which would have, you know, a PAPER TRAIL), at least he didn't go schlepping across the world to glad-hand some donations from the richest foreigners he could find, like Romney did

Is Romney ineligible to become the next President of the United States of America? It’s a very real possibility, especially since he threw a few fundraisers during his disastrous little overseas meet n’ greet a few weeks ago. These fundraisers were extremely private, with no journalists present (with a single exception, who did not have access to the donors), no filming or photography allowed, no diligence done, and no donor IDs checked. If money changed hands at these rich shin-digs (which is quite probable, being fundraisers and all), Romney could be in a lot of trouble.

As Veterans Today points out:
If you go outside the US: If you stay inside the US, if your contributor is living in the US but not a citizen, any money you get can mean years in jail.

Romney went the whole way, personally campaigning outside the US, soliciting foreign citizens, and humiliating himself and his country with his ignorance and flagrant attempts to trade illegal cash for promises of illegal war. One could hardly break more laws if one wanted.

“Romney has raised millions in foreign cash at fundraising event across Israel and London, those that we know of so far. One table alone gave him a million in cash. None was from American citizens. Fewer than 10% of Romney’s contributors in Israel are estimated to be “dual citizens.” Others may have just flown the money in.”

This guy isn't just anybody though. He's a campaign bundler for Obama.

True, he is. However, do we know the extent of Romney's bundlers? The answer to that is no according to this Daily Beast report (link which was found on the GAI website) that claims the only Romney bundlers we are allowed to know about are the registered lobbyists who bundle for him and we only know those because it is legally required to disclose those. As you will see, they claim that Obama has disclosed his bundlers.... lobbyist or otherwise.

Unlike Obama, Romney has not released the names of his bundlers. However, campaigns are legally required to disclose bundlers who are registered lobbyists, as well as the amounts they bundle. So we can at least see the 34 Romney bundlers who fall into that category.
DailyBeast.com Sourced Article: Romney's List

Next week, we’ll look at some of Romney’s bundlers, although identifying them is more complicated because—unlike the Obama campaign—Romney has refused to release the names of his top fundraisers.
DailyBeast.com Sourced Article: Obama's List

If you look at both sourced articles above you will notice that the information on the bundler's lists is from this GAI group. Interesting isn't it that this Roche guy does not even appear in the top 50 'bundlers' on Obama's list yet the same group that released this supposed bombshell report makes much a-do about him in the report. Also interesting in this report by GAI (which is not exactly 'new' since it was released in late September) does not really throw Romney under the bus for his lack of disclosure of non-lobbyist bundlers. So while on the surface this 'report' seems to be bi-partisan, I question that greatly unless I missed the part of the report where it points out Romney's lack of disclosure of the same information on his bundlers and their online donation policies.

Let's face it, this practice is one done by both parties on all levels (as pointed out by JacKatMtn) and frankly it makes me sick. It just goes to prove, once again, that they are all as crooked as a pan of guts and "They alllllllllll bundle"

Yes, I know. They all bundle and they are all crooked.
But.....
This thread is about Obama and his campaign funding.

The post that I made was referring to the fact that the guy that has the obama.com site that redirects to barackobama.com IS a bundler for Obama.

Posters are saying that there is no connection between Obama and the obama.com site. Just a huge coincidence I suppose?

I think someone that believes that may want to be careful buying real estate in NYC, especially bridges.

I think I found the dirty little secret about this story.

Using the Way Back Machine and looking at the website Obama.com a name came up at the bottom of the never used website. Copyright (c) 2007 GMO Internet, Inc. All Rights Reserved. GMO Internet, Inc is a Japanese company. They are part of the parent GMO Internet Group. In the group of companies is GMO Venture Partners Investment Limited Partnership who is partners with JAFCO Ventures who is part of the Sequoia Capital.

finance.fortune.cnn.com...

Romney also managed to secure more than $50,000 from venture capitalists, from such firms as Highland Capital Partners, Polaris Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital and Trident Capital.

So Sequoia Capital is a Mitt Romney donor who is behind the website Obama.com which has no record of ever being used to publish anything on it. At least from what the Way Back Machine shows. And here they are doing a redirect from a website that don't exist.

So I guess that this would also be proof that Deer Park brand spring water contains chocolate?

Nestle' owns the company.

Like I said, when I google searched it, I could preview a page, and it did not appear to be the page i get linked to on the redirect to barackobama.com

This is hardly a bombshell to anyone that knows about registering web urls. Anyone can buy a non gov web url. The practice of buying website that may go up in value has been a long established practice. People rush out and register political name url every election cycle hoping to either protect the web url or to sell it later for a profit.

A interesting example of this would be whitehouse.com. Back in the early days of the Bush administration, the whitehouse.com site was a porn site. Now, it would be silly to blame Bush for the pornagraphy as a third party bought an unregulated url for it's own purpose. Much in the same way it would be silly to blame Obama for a third party buying Obama.com.

Again.
Is it silly when the third party is an Obama bundler?

Corruption: Exposing Barack Obama’s Illegal Foreign Campaign Money Loophole

townhall.com...

Of course this is a right leaning website. Katie Pavlich wrote the bestselling book on the Fast and Furious Scandal.

I doubt any MSM player will cover this.

Is the non-use of CVV code verification simply an oversight or mistake made by Obama for America? Most likely, no. The Obama campaign is willing to pay millions in fees in order to accept unsecured contributions on their donation page without the CVV code.

In this case, the journalist, has "connected the dots" and placed his own subjective meaning on the connections.

I will not deny though, that the connections are very interesting none the less.

How many times can things just be a coincidence.. .?

edit on 8-10-2012 by MDDoxs because: (no reason given)

I agree.
The journalist obviously doesn't know how business works, or has chosen to ignore it.

I am no Obama fan (I feel the need to state that every time, because I know a right-winger will be along any moment to whine about how I'm biased) but the word "China" is basically just being used as a red flag for a propaganda piece.

Romney has business ties to China, Chinese banks, Chinese industrialists and no doubt one or two of them are in senior positions with ties to the Chinese government. What does that say about Romney?

There's probably no story here, and I can bet that someone will be along any moment to expose how Romney has had business dealings with the Chinese that can look equally suspicious when you connect the dots too.

I would agree. One can only hope that Obama having business ties to China will reduce the stupid criticism of Romney having business ties overseas. In a global economoy, one cannot NOT have business with one of the fastest growing economies.

I like your whitehouse.com story. Thankyou.

Roche, however, is a little bit more than just some disinterested third party who innocently bought a fun domain name:

In September 2010, Roche was appointed by President Barack Obama as a memer of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.[2] On January 18, 2011, he attended a U.S. State dinner which included President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Premier of China Hu Jintao, and Chinese Actor Jackie Chan.[3]
