Yes more earthquakes are bound to happen, but that does not give us reason to ignore current activity.

I was not trying to fear monger, just thought I would share the news as I do know that many members like to hear these updates when it comes to seismic activity. Volcanoes are always good to keep an eye on too since both these types of incidents can have a major effect on our earth.

It was actually in the Gulf of California near Mexico.

The link in my OP has a map that shows the exact location if you are interested.

I know the area is prone to this magnitude of quake but in my non expert opinion I believe that these shallow quakes have the potential to cause more damage. Perhaps I am wrong and do not mind being corrected.

BTW I have been through mag 5's and higher while I lived on the West Coast and they are quite scary, and epic would be one way of explaining it, frightening is also another word that comes to mind, especially if you live on an island in the Pacific right on sea level.
