Iran apparently was a little nervous after Israel bombed the Syrian reactor site in 2007. Also noted in the article was the fact Iran built a target
site simulating Dimona and Haifa for daily air-to-ground training.
Reminds me of the Cold War aviation mishaps and near-mishaps. Nervous people make mistakes.
