C'mon! Iran captured a US drone (because it must be that easy after spending over 2 billion on the program and 4 million per drone), reverse engineered it, built it (under sanctions), used it to spy on Israel, where it was shot out of the sky.

it's my theory that the drone was launched as a test measure

aditionally i think the USA launched the self directed drone, designed to fly over desolate territory from Gaza toward the interior of the country

the 'test' was coordinated between US naval ships in the Med. & Israeli AF... to see if the radar and other systems could detect the intruder and the AF could intercept & destroy the drone

The 'test' is being propagandized as a enemy drone or even a false flag operation

In the university environment, it is well known that Iranians are very good on anything to do with Artificial Intelligence. I would not see why Iran would not be capable of building a good drone or a swarm of drones. The issue is, did they? We will never know as Israel will never show the drone, so the OP could also be a valid explanation..
