Beezer.. I think you just have not been paying attention. The decline of Detroit is very well documented. Jobs are gone. Factories closed up. High
unemployment. People losing their homes on a mass scale. Crime began rising. The City itself has no money and is broke. Earlier this year the City of
Detroit was exactly 7 days away from being completely bankrupt. What has happened to Detroit is no joke and as the local economy has tanked, crime has
exploded. The City can not hire more Officers, there is no money. That is why what few they do have are overworked. There is no one else to do the
job.
So just how bad is it? Check this out... and if this does not leave your jaw hanging to your keyboard, I dont know what more it would take to do it.
What if I told you, right now- right this minute, you can buy a 2 or 3 bedroom house for a total of $100.00. This is not a type. I did not put the
decimal point in the wrong spot. One Hundred dollars, right now.
Let's start your Detroit bargain basement sale with this 2 bedroom home, 2,162 square feet. Estimated value is $30,900. You can buy it today for $100
and it has been on and off the market since Sept 2010.
Here is another 2 bedroom home with 1,246 square feet. Valued at $34,100 and it last sold in December of 2009 for $500. You can buy it today for
$100.
Here is another 2bedroom with 1,320 square feet. Valued is $34,500 and was listed in October of 2010 for $1000. Today it listed for $100
Here we have a single family 3 bedroom home with 1,200 square feet. Valued at $24,700 and sold in 2009 for $250. Today it is listed at $100.
This is a 3 bedroom home with 3,484 square feet. Close to schools and valued at only $18,600. This property was last sold in August of 2007 and this
property sold for $27,000. Today you can buy this for $100
Of course if you have no money, that is not a problem either. There are properties for sale that the City of Detroit will PAY YOU to take off their
hands. Many of these are abandoned homes and there are even programs in place where the City will give you as much $150,000 to renovate. Yes, a free
home and the city will give you money to fix these places up. Business Insider ran an article on this very issue and showed us 100 homes that you can
get for little to no money at all.
Detroit will PAY you to take one of these abandoned homes
It is that bad.
